Was not a great game to watch. Eagles had a poor start again to a game this week .but pegged the magpies back and got the lead and I dont think the eagles surrendered it .
Bad aspect Salter off with a poss knee injury.
Will write more latter.

Eagles had 6 scoring shots to 4 at qtr time but trailed by 3 points whilst kicking into a slight breeze.
Second quarter was better from the Eags kicking around 6 goals and taking in a handy lead into half time.
Third quarter Eagles conceded two goals in the first two minutes and it was game on. Eagles extended half time break ended then and then steadied and took back control of the game.
Last Quarter all eagles, Despite playing on the oppositions "home deck" silencing the port power coloured clothing & hat wearing supporters.
Some Eagles fan said the opposition are as soft as butter and with little resistance fold like a pack of cards when confronted by a any level of pressure. Eagles Inflicted the worst ever season start to the ethelton magpies, Port Adelaide football club, port Adelaide magpies football club or whatever entity tries to play "home" , matches at alberton, on record. Adding to the 7 in a row mid season loss record the Eagles inflicted on their club a few years back.
Leigh Treeby. Last quarter, special. Gun.
Kenny gave his opponent an ab-so-lute bath.
Broadbent was dominant, let’s hope choke-o choker does not ruin his game. Choke-o needs to stop loitering around our huddle at the 1/4 & 3/4 time breaks.
Premeirship livewire Westbrook, dangerous & has pace & goal sense, a welcome return to the club this year
Premiership CHF Adam Grocke was fierce at any contest, Despite passador's absence Clayton was all footsteps in three contests, and grocke was those footsteps, cleaning him up very nicely.
Premiership Captain Cicca Great long goal, fierce in one on one contests.
Number 5 thug for ethelton, you will get yours.
Matthew Jokan was just that, when confronted by a shot for goal in the last, passed it off 20 metres backwards in the old one two, received it straight back just joked it wide, ending any chance they had. His dummy spitting performance at his own ability was commendable, in front of the faithful.
No other mentions for the opposition with no success, just a new bunch of filfth plying cheap shot artists.
The best any local wag could come up with after the game was "AT LEAST WE MADE A GAME OF IT!!!!" Besides being SO way off the mark, warms the heart that they accept mediocrity down there this last decade. No flags for the last ten years is more his-tory in the making!!!
Ginever & Wallace on teleconference calls for most of this evening. Resign Now Ginever, although you are a supercoach with no commitment and yet to be given a decent opportunity.
I say sign him up for a three year deal.....quick
All in all a usual day at the stinking neutral ground that is alberton.
PS We all missed Clive Sh!thouse, the great claim to fame of being 3rd in fremantle's best & fairest one year, great recruit, beneath this team man to play reserves it seems.
GO YOU EAGS!!!

What's to get excited about? We only beat the bottom side![]()

Seriously though, it's not like we any claims to be world-beaters (at the moment). We only won a game of the sort we would have lost last year. And we have to play Port again this year, who seem to have a pretty good record at Woody Oval.

Pity you cant beat Port in something like an SANFL Grand Final, I recall being there in 1994, what happened on that occassion to the great amalgamated club? The coach of Port may not have won today, yet his efforts as Captain on that occassion certainley suggests that you have a long long way to go to even remotley even up the score!

1994 SANFL (South Australia National Football League) Grand Final saw the Port Adelaide Magpies defeat the Woodville-West Torrens Eagles by 37 points after being 35 points behind in the first quarter. The match was played on October 2, 1994 at Football Park in front of a crowd of 40,598[1].
Despite Port Adelaide's recent success, having won 4 premierships in the 6 years leading up to 1994, the Eagles were seen as the superior team coming in to the Grand Final. Port had lost several key players in recent years to the AFL and retirement, and the Eagles had thrashed Port just 2 weeks earlier in the 2nd Semi Final by 73 points.
Betting before the Grand Final saw Woodville-West Torrens as clear favourites with 1/3 odds and Port at 25/10 [1]. Port's odds could have been even higher if not for their outstanding record in Grand Finals, and their reputation for beating better teams.
When the Eagles led by 35 points in the first quarter, the game seemed headed toward an inevitable Eagles victory. Port then staged a miraculous 72-point turnaround.
