It's really all conjecture at this time of year WCE, unless you hear it straight from their mouth....I've spoken to PW but we were pretty blind so wouldn't think anything of that

Will be interesting to see if any players actually come down from the GFFL!

Next year would be a good year for any non Rambler players to come dip their feet in the Lincoln water. The thought of S Pedler tapping to Boxer, G Pedler & S Blacker who in turn kick to Rule & J Fitzgerald down forward wouldn't be a good one for opposition sides.

Roger has categorically stated that he would never pull on a maroon GF guernsey though.......

When you put it like that WCP it sounds daunting, however a few arguements i've heard....

S.Pedler you might remember had a dodgy hammy the last month plus finals of last season, only played when he had to....he's getting on and injuries like that will hang around

Boxer also getting on in age, not that i know him or his fitness level

D.Rule has had a season off and also no spring chicken so his fitness for a whole year will have to be questioned?

I could be wrong, but surely 1 injury to one or more of these guys, plus the quality players that ramblers have lost would definetly not be as daunting as playing them at full strength last year!

Boxer had a back complaint this year from a heavy clash in round 1 and did struggle with it for a while but has overcome it, he defies his age and goes as hard as any young bucks going around. Fitness not an issue there.

I'd expect Ruley to play the goal square leaving Fitzy as the leading forward. Don't need to be superfit to play full forward, take it from me  Season off also wouldn't be an issue, class is permanent.

I really can't see any sides up there having a good enough defence to hold the 100 goal Fitzgerald plus Ruley, who would be one of the better forwards in country SA

Wonder how things are shaping in the Mid West League - any whispers up yonder? In your professional opinion (this is directed at everyone) do you think that if u got some GFFL players down to lincoln that their fitness might be a little ... down - compared to PLFL standards? Even tho roger and ruley are by no means spring chickens theyd still be able have a massive impact. Any thoughts?

Don't know why so many people go on about fitness, sure it helps but playing in country leagues is not like you need to be Steve Monagetti, you just need to be a bit smart (which sounds easy enough but is pretty bloody hard for many people) and have some skills and that's it! Easy as that.....no real fitness level required to play the game!

Agree with your comment WCP about class

you gotta remember ruley and rog dominated in plfl which is a stronger comp than gffl. it shows when districts is 3 teams and gffl is 6 teams.
so surely even with age they will be very handy up there.

Elaborate Eags!! I see the GM mentioned the "Internet Gang" conjuring up why Tasmans won't win both grades.. I assume he means all the fellas on this site..
If they win both, the GM will lobby for a statue matching Makybe Diva to be placed on the foreshore.. WTF!!!

Whos going to have more say on the pitch prep this week eags.... Tasies want a turner for Gourlays hand grinades and Smiths darts. Do u want something that seams around for wcps middle overs and smoo's overs at the death?

That letter certainly wouldn't be from us Grub!! How do you figure the odds on us & Charlton.. Both $1.85 when they have won 4 games and us O and they thumped us by 130 runs in 1st round.

Grub ... The two page letter was what I was referring to earlier. Apparently not happy with the condition of grounds, but I don't know the full details.

Are we on water restrictions or something here? Or is rain forecast? He doesn't like pumping too much water into the deck at Centenary that's for sure!! A slow turner will suit us nicely however.

Scoob .... I agree .... was hoping for some value on Waybacks as I reckon you blokes will do it easy over Charlton.

looking for value fellas??.... dont look at 4 wins v 0 losses, beat us by 131 in first round.... look at ability.... look at names .... not much diff on paper as the odds reflect!!!!
According to the GM if any one beats Tasmans they will need a crow bar!!! And u will get done for grand larceny!!!
Letter not from u scoob.... I siad ' from a frontrunning club'!!!!!
btb\rossco - whats the goss on your 2yo... said to be working well on the track from my spys?
W Fielder likes keeping Centenary out field dry, to keep it fast.... games that only have 3 or 4 bounries arent to good for the game.
Anyone want an update on MVP points, most wickets ect.... just let me know..... think WT is averaging 45 hence his early retirement!!!
