Port Power

Talk on the national game

Port Power as a nickname became a problem when wankers in the media and general wankers in the street refered to the club as being called Port Power Football Club, so they took the word Port out of the nickname to avoid confusion from morons. But apparantly some morons are still confused, including some who claim to support the club.

There are alot of Power supporters who still use the name, as it was our name from 1997-1999, but in 2000, we dropped the 'Port' from the name.

So which one of you is right?
Were you called Port Power or not?
History suggests you were....
& btw, I hate Port Power (or whatever it is your club is called at the minute)! :D

Don't ask why it bugs us, it just does for some stupid reason.

You cant explain why it annoys you?? I think its just an excuse so Port Power supporters can have an "Us against Them" scenario, and it gives them a reason to complain and have a sook. If you didnt whinge everytime someone said "Port Power" then nobody would call you that.

Why does the last line of their song simply state, "Port Power"?

If it is in their official club song it must be okay.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Must be why they don't sing it much anymore.

Ummm...it doesn't.

The club changed it to 'Power' many years ago.

Changed it from what, MP? Port Power?

Also, the Port Magpies are commonly referred to as just that, even though they are Port Adelaide Magpies.
Perhaps it's there own supporters, who for convenience, differentiate between the 2 Port's by adding "Power" or "Magpies" for clarification?
