Will Williams Be At Port Next Year?

Postby hearts on fire » Wed Mar 18, 2009 9:46 pm

After watching the footy show last week, i saw an interview with Mark Williams. They discussed his future at the Power and he didn't sound too certain.....

I know almost every year it gets thrown up, will he go back to Melbourne? or will he stay?

i personally think he will stay, can't see him leaving.

your thoughts?

My thoughts are that this thread will turn into another Port/Williams bashing exercise.

After finishing fourth in the minor round the club will announce a two year extension to his contract.

I would expect him to head to Melbourne for a bit. Funny enough, I reckon collingwood would get him. Big Mick brings nothing but dissapointment to collingwood with a top list, so.......

I think Port will make the 8 so i think he will stay.

Anything less than finals action though he is gone IMO.

The only person who ever says Mark Williams is going to coach elsewhere is Mark Williams.

Would Collingwood or Essendon actually want him ?

Before i get jumped all over, im not faulting his actual coaching record (which is outstanding), but FFS, does he have to keep reinforcing the fact he is a tool.

Why would you even be mentioning on national TV that you might like to coach elsewhere one day, especially in light of recent happenings ?

Maybe not, I think a new coach with a fresh game plan would go pretty well.

Mark Williams is a football professional and can coach anywhere he wants !

He is clearly not suited to media duties and often looks foolish, big deal !
reverse the roles
chuck James Brayshaw on the field or any media pro and watch how silly Mark makes them look !!!

Not a premiership list.
The worst thing they could do Collingwood is sign Mark Williams.

Give him a contract that takes him through until 2029.
It's all the SANFL's fault.
