Re: GSFL Movements
Reading between the lines I think cuzzy and other bays players / supporters aren't so much disappointed that Love left, its probably more about the way he went about it. A meeting with coach, president etc could have seen Owen thank the club, explain his situation and they could have parted mutually. He then could have addressed the playing group informing them of his decision. I am sure that the way he played 'on field' they would have accepted the reasons behind his move.

so if port elliot amalgumated with Goolwa are you now saying goolwa have a lack of numbers to play in a trial this weekend, certainly didnt look like goolwa were struggling for numbers in that photo in the advertiser a couple of weeks ago?

cuzzy, you would want to be a good footballer at the Bay, as to bag a player who was runner-up in the medal is low and the club would want him back when he returns and he will return. People like you will stop that from happening.
Owen did meet with the president and told him of his intentions.

seems strange that the president would approach the playing group and advise that he had know idea what Owen was up to and kept telling the group that Owen was telling him that he was playing. Seems strange that if the president was informed and was okay with it, why would he then refuse the clearance. Just so you know i am in no way bagging Owens playing ability just his lack of communication and clarity with the club and fact he has let down supporters and team mates this season.

I drove past Goolwa last night and they would have had 25 - 30 on the track.

Re: GSFL Movements
Cuzzy, you're obviously getting info second or third hand. You've hung a bloke out to dry on here without understanding his reasons for his actions and without even managing to ascertain the facts.
Football clubs not only to play football but to support one and other. Sometimes individual's own actions run counter to this, but the group as a whole should retain this mentality. I don't know what, if anything, that Owen did wrong, but you have demonstrated an ethos of pettiness, vindictiveness and by airing your dirty laundry in public a lack of restraint.
Congratulations on making yourself look silly.

Re: GSFL Movements
I hope that isnt true about us cancelling a trial because although we are not getting massive numbers (between 20 -30 each night) we have 50-60 in total who have trained at some stage and as a player I could do with an 'extra' trial. I have never heard Christies and trial in the same sentence so if we did in fact cancel in would not have been a numbers issue.

Teamwork, are sure you were going to the shops and not coming home from training with victor. Having a chat with a few victor boys today and said you trained there last night. Is it safe to assume you have made your decision then?

You bagged his playing ability in black and white on here - several times, LuvsFooty's correct - your reading between the lines and I am not who you say.
Your president is playing silly buggers by the sounds of things, congrats on your new signings from south too

Re: GSFL Movements
A GRADE
Willunga 14goals 14 behindsdefeated Happy Valley 7 goals 8 behinds
The Happy Valley DWARFS got off to A good start with plenty of run from behind and handballs out the back.
Chris Prizabilla and Brett Horsfall have pulled the boots back on and fronted up in the A's
No Hams, Thomas, Baxter, Ryan or McGowan
Haskett was outstanding whether at CHB or on the ball.
Portlock who at least knows right from left (the umpire meant the other right Mitch) was very good and in the last quarter his clearances from the middle were brilliant
Kicked about 3 goals 7
Steele who spent about a third of the game on the ball was dominant and his rovers goal in the second quarter a gem.
Macca on the wing in the first half was terrific and Wes Glass who had no opponent in the last half did as he liked across the centre.
Liked the look of Simon Roberts.
Carnas, as usual hard at it.
Young ruckman about 6' 7" showed promise but a while away yet
Hand skills were good, but the kicking a week or so from being right
Even though there is no Top Side at HV they were there in numbers
I reckon they were told to have a real dip in the last quarter cos they did crank it up then
Happy Valley had 2 blokes over 6 feet
Their young Ruckman toiled hard and did a fair job
Full Back in the second half kept Guitink kickless ...The jury is out on young Guitink but showed enough in his first half in a new side
Young Kid at Full forward probably 5' 10" in high heels great pair of hands for his size and a good kick
Lootsy his normal self and only just missed Macca
They really missed Scott McKenzie
Handball skills were below par and too many turnovers
Reserves Willunga by about a goal
9 goals to 7 or 8 goals

Re: GSFL Movements
Hams did play but only the first quarter, went off with a poked eye, and if you were watching guitnik was rotating at CHF and FF and went of in the last with hamstring soreness, he did pretty gud seeing he has been outa the game for 18months, kicked 2.2. And yes good call on the dwarfs had no tall men and did miss McKenzie.

Heard a few results at the Victory on the way home
Reynella beat Victor by about 4 goals
Victors recruits played well and the team looked Ok
Encounter Bay played very well against Morphett Vale in a 6 segment game.
Encounter Bay up early in the game but over 6 segments teams change a fair bit
Port Noarlunga beat McLaren by about 6 or 7 goals.
In the reserves Mclaren over Port Noarlunga by a couple

i think who told u enc bay played well may have been pulling youre leg mate,id say m/vale won by about 25 gls, with only most players getting about 2-3 qtrs max, alot of emu guns did not play, have no idea about the enc bay side but i thought they looked very average.

Re: GSFL Movements
second that, the bays were rank. may have been a 7 goal win on the scoreboard but m/v smashed them in general play. the bays only scored 2 goals in the first 3 quarters, against half the emu a grade side. to be competitive this yr i think swainy and mitchel are going to have to get busy signing some 'quality' recruits. one recruit to look ok was andy. does anyone know here hes from?? who hes played for in the past??
