I thought Marc would stick with his word and play at districts. I guess not! I dont know why he doesnt play at districts, has a few mates there. I think he has a relative that coaches at Para Hills. Oh well, thats his loss playing in a crap division.

Saw Port District's play Payneham NU in a trial yesterday - Payneham NU looked very sharp in the first half with Jolly once again looking very dangerous up forward.

The final score saw PNU win by a point after they were some 6 or 7 goals up at one stage. Districts came home well in the 40 minutes of footy, and in the last quarter kicked a number of goals into a stiff breeze.

Port Districts looked very small lacking height considerably. I hope for their sake it is a cold wet winter (yeah as if it rains in Adelaide) and the ball stays on the ground alot, otherwise it could be a long year for the Magpies.

My overall impression from this trial was that thing did not appear all that cohesive at Largs. For Ricky Pearce's sake - I hope I am wrong...

Also noticed that Gates, Steed, Puecker, Duerdan and Smart did not play.....

Gates, Smarty, Higgsy and Lachy Lade are good players but we might struggle with height.
Only small side and lets hope it rains.

Don't count on Steed staying retired for long. The word around the traps is that he will play - he just is timing his return. Once the dust settles and if the boys win a couple of games early - in true Steed style he will be back and he will let everyone know he is back. Would it be a conflict of interest if your Football Director (in charge of the player payments) decides to play??

As for Puecker, any truth in the rumour that his retirement was brought on by his non selection in the A Grade two weeks ago??

A great win for the Districts boys today - always good to win the 1st round which traditionally the club has struggled to do for many years. Even better to beat Gaza at home!!

Wonder how bad Fitzgerald's injury is?? Any news??

Fitzy has a broken jaw and broken nose and a depressed cheekbone (if thats what u call it) in a bad state. Will be sore for a while i would imagine. Gaza looked a bit slow and old, good win by districts with none of the forwards dominating.

Dale not good but still good to beat the money boys by a couple. Got more of the money boys next week though out at Ferral Park.
Goodies, Henley and Gepps the other money kings might be harder. Tough to compete with clubs chucking round 2K to sign on and 500 a game like Gepps. Good to get an idea what they pay out at that crap hole from Steedy and Carts. Wish they would fix up slosh hole of any oval first. At least Goody, Henley, S/North ovals are OK

Nothing wrong with Gepps oval District boy, the other 3 are no better.
Did you struggle to get a kick on that ground in the past pal?
Carter & Steed got good money at Gepps but quickly left for Districts! For what?

A Football culture Mercy easy. A club that wins D1 or A1 flags. About 23 or so Premierships as either Districts or Sema4 Centrals. Gepps - Zippo and no culture

District boy 09 : who are you playing next week ? Dummy. And by the way, the only culture you appear to have, is on your teeth.
