Talk on any country footy league or club from the SA Country area

I have zero sympathy for clubs who are groaning and moaning that the points system is unfair, doesnt allow them to recruit etc etc. Majority of the clubs voted it in, i would say hastily and for whatever reason they thought it was a great idea. Sure it needs some fine tuning, maybe even some big changes to be made but they voted it in so complaining they cant compete is their own fault, noone elses.
[/quote]

BJ, Of course you have no sympathy, it doesnt affect you & your about to win your 6th premiership in a row ;)

Not after sympathy, i dont have any ties to a Gsfl club, i only used Pongy in examples cause i was there then. I think they were looking at the point system as a bit of a "white knight" because the cap was a joke. I dont think they sore the otherside of the coin. Its just my opion that the league is going backwards. Maybe this has to happen to go forward, i dont know. Is the risk worth it?

Would it be better to give clubs more points & then slowly reduce them to even out the league?

I have no sympathy for someone who makes a choice, be it right or wrong and then complains about the choice theyve made. A 6th one does sound nice tho!! I think theres a few clubs that will have a say in whether that eventuates or not.

The cap was impossible to police, the points system is transparent and i do see its merit but when clubs start asking for more points because a player left surely this was all thought about before voting 'yes' to the system. All clubs will go up and down due to this system but clubs like Pongy will struggle as there just isnt enough ppl/juniors to keep supplying the club with quality players.

There needs to be a tiered system with the points, 3 points difference between top and bottom when the margins push 25 goals is not even close to the difference!!! Some interesting months/years ahead. This season i still believe with recruiting like Creeks and Victor have done thus far will be a lot more even than last season!

Sounds like Zac's old man is scheduled to umpire the first 4 of Goolwa's matches.

If a club wins 5 or less games they get 2 0pt players valued up to 4pts each.If a club wins 8,7,6 they get 1 0pt player valued up to 4 pts , similar to the the afl draft concessions.Or perhaps the first option could just be 8 free pts(4 2pt players) same same i suppose.

Another nice hot night for training, are many guys suffering shin splints and tight through the legs due to hard grounds?

I noticed in the paper this morning they had a list of all the ins and outs for each SANFL team and South had Dale Ellis down as an out. This suggests he may be joining Victor.. if this is the case they would have some serious headaches with points I would imagine. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Did anyone know Sterzl was leaving Pongy??? A big out for the Muddies...Creeks have picked up a good young footballer in Cooney too...Anyone know why he has left Strath, especially after a premiership year there??? Maybe he sees a better chance of winning an Senior premiership with creeks...

Young Cooney's good mates with quite a few of the Creek senior colts apparantly. I think he's playing with South and is planning on having a game with LC when the panthers have the bye.

Dale Ellis had to retire from league footy to get out of his contract so he can play at Victor, I would think they do have points dramas.

He might get a few more games back at Creeks than just the bye..If not, i think SAFC might be a bit more tighter on consistent U/18 players playing back at local clubs during the bye..
