What has changed with Owen? I spoke to him a few weeks ago and he was staying there.

Can anyone give me a run down on Nick Warren ??
He has moved to Whyalla and it seems as though all clubs are after his services but as of yet he hasnt signed for anyone.
I have also heard around the place that he may still travel and play for Langhorne Creek this season.
Surely this bloke can play as he has most clubs in Whyalla chasing him around.
I posted on her last week that i heard he had signed for Roopena but that is false.
Can anyone shed some light onto this ??

Before going to town on Hoppo hes not leaving to get an easier game, without knowing Pongys situation player wise we have more than enough players for 2 teams and he doesnt want to come back and have someone miss a game when he hasnt been able to train. A commendable decision by him i would say and wouldnt have been taken lightly but in the wants to play footy on his 1 weekend out of 3 he has at home!

good luck to hoppo, had many a good game against him, id say bj is spot on and he would be willunga through and through, but i think with his knees he would probably struggle to get a game at willunga once a month, but the real question is did he eat all of matt's food when they were growing up!!!

Nick Warren CAN PLAY.
Great skills, good pace, kicks goals and a fine leader
It is not surprising that everyone in Whyalla wants him to play for them.
18 weeks plus finals travelling down to Langhornes from Whyalla will be very taxing for the young man.
I guess it is up to him to decide what he wants to do.

Is he seriously considering returning? That would be a massive commitment surely? Does anyone actually know him and has heard HIM say that he may return? He must really love the club at Langhorne to do that. Is it that special? Would be a big boost top them if he did return

on another topic how good is Cuzzy at backing down and dodging any ridiculous and possible unfounded earlier comments he makes. Feel free to defend yourself Cuzzy

Whyalla to Adelaide is a 45 min flight. Lots of guys live further from the GSFL than Adelaide airport. If you add a bit of pocket money to a chance to come home and catch up with family and friends each weekend, travelling from Whyalla wouldn't be that bad.

Defend myself from what, rumours to come out of Scotch old collegians last night were two blokes Verco and Walsh from GSFL?, i believe they are from creeks? Apparently they live or have family in adelaide and want to play amatuers? How do these two go anyone got any news on them?

we had blokes from the last two years travelling from past craigmoore which would be a decent 2.5 hour drive to victor, think they would gladly get on a flight for 45 mins and probably get the same coin minus the usage of their own car.

Return flights to Adelaide - $350
Petrol to Creek - $50
Entry to ground - $5
Hot dog with sauce & a coke - $5

Total - $410

Doing a hammy in the 1st quater because of lack of training and getting betaen by 6 goals in -3 degree weather at Myponga.......PRICELESS!!!!

Enjoy the return flight

Geez you'd be pretty hard pressed to go to Scotch old cols. They're pretty much "up the Creek" so to speak. Depends which Verco you're talking about. They're everywhere down there i believe. But with a name like that I'd suggest they'd be Saint Peters to the back teeth so going to play for scotch would be ablout as bad as going to play for the cocky Strath Roosters. Could it be one Andrew "Ack" Verco making a comeback?

As for this Walsh character I have no idea

cuzzy wrote:my brother plays for an adelaide amatuer club and speaking to him last night he said they have been in contact with 5 or 6 players from creeks who acctually live in langhorne creek but are now spitting it about these new recruits taking the cash$$. These are blokes in their early 20's who play good footy but do it and enjoy it with there mates. Apparantley these blokes are still training with the creeks but keeping it hush until they get a good offer and are very keen to move on. This once again proves a point and it happened at the bays two years ago when bassani first took the reins, he got the job and with him came 8 or 9 blokes, these 8 or 9 blokes, got good coin, most of them didnt stick around after the game and didnt train except for heuskes and JB and although the team looked good on paper, it didnt jell and most of the local blokes tossed it in because they knew most of the recruits besides the two mentioned above were in it for the coin and not the team.

its sounds good to buy a premiership but can be harmfull in the long run, i think credit has to go to willunga, if they did splash the cash atleast most of the blokes have stuck around and are good team men. Think the club has adopted a culture which most clubs would love to have.

So we've eventually got these names!.. Verco and Walsh.. Like Orange Slicer mentioned the Verco's (Rupert & Will) are both St Peter's boys so I can't see them fronting up for Scotch.. Will has actually brought a mate with him to the Creek and he's since signed a clearance. I don't think his mate would be pleased if he jumped ship now!
As for Andy Walsh he's from Adelaide and he's played one season with us (last year). The travelling was a bit too much being a struggling uni student so he told the club in the off season that he's gonna be playing in town somewhere. Last I heard he was training with Mitcham. His brother Tim, who also plays for us, has been in Canada for about a year.

C'mon cuzzy! you mention 2 names and no ones ever heard of them. When you make big revelations they need to involve people that would actually leave a hole in a side if they left their current club.

hey i didnt know what quality they were going to be? i just got told the rumours! iv worked bloody hard the last week to get the names also. On a serious note, at the bays we are seriosly struggling for trainers, has all clubs got this problem? It seems hard to get any treatment, think the bays have one bloke at the moment. Its a pitty because it seems the same people do it each year and when they retire or have something else on there is noone else.

It also amazes me that if you need a xray on game day due to an injury, victor harbor cannot do it, its off to adelaide. Though victor harbor and the gsfl was a big enough town /comp to warrant some facilities being avaliable on a saturday.

Bad luck Cuzzy! but maybe you can salvage your credibility when you reveal the other 3-4 names out of the "5-6" that are leaving the creek.

Limb did these Vercos and Walsh fellas play A's last year? And can you provide me with bank details so i can donate money to convince Ack Verco to make a comeback?

I don't think we would want to see Ack back in the footy shorts.. we'd rather see him on the sidelines taking the p*ss out of the opposition players!

Rupe played A Grade all last year and Will played 1 or 2 games.. I think Andy Walsh played 4 or 5 A Grade games towards the end of the year as well.

Is Rupert the yappy defender whos mum apologised to Hamsy after the 2nd Semi Final when Dave kicked 7 on him?
