Scotty Mcqueen used to be super quick!!! Played junior footy with Scott and was a very solid player.

Will help out Mclarens a fair bit if his form is anything like it used to be, i think hes been out of footy for a while now.

Scotty Mac wouldn't have played for about 4 or 5 years i reckon. Mates with Quinny, the Letsch boys and a few others that i hear might be making their way up those ways. Most of them wouldn't have played much, if any football in the last 4 - 5 years. I suppose this would make them zero point players?

Into our third week of pre season which has been pretty intense
We have spent most of the time at the beach, Moana, maslins and Pt Noarlunga, with only 2 sessions at the oval
Numbers have been solid for each session.
Pick ups for 2009 at this stage
Russell Hart
Mark Fenoughty
Matt Heaney (spelling)
Scott McQueen,
Quinny the chucker
Justin Houston making a serious comeback
Ash Whiley back after a year off
and a couple of new faces over the last week

Losses
Aaron Hockey
Justin Hentshcke both to Mannum
Steve Freeling to Aldinga
Paul James is doubtful

There are still a couple of now shows and 6 doing Vintage Work
We still are looking for a gun Back pocket and a mongrel Full Back

The 6 juniors coming up from Gianni's U/17 are looking good
We also have around 6 at South Adelaide.

Trial games against Port Noarlunga, Noarlunga and Happy Valley are organised and trip to KI to be discussed tonight

Juniors first night last night and they are not looking too bad

7 weeks this Saturday before we test were we are at against Willunga

I heard that Steve Freeling was playing at Mclaren again this year, but he has not hit the track yet.
Has he put any papers through yet Yetti?

Some very handy ins there for Mclaren... Mqueen and the Letsch boys! That coupled with a new coach who will have no regard for previous reputations should see them climb up the ladder to a possible finals birth. Still require a gun forward for mine if they wanna get close breaking into top 3 tho...??

Baz working everyone extremley hard from the start and it shows with some blokes even after 2 weeks! How are teams going with thier preos, any stand outs to speak of and anymore trial games to be confirmed?

i almost had a heart attack last night when i found out my first trial game is in less then a month!!! I wud imagine other teams would have trial games just around the corner to!

It never ceases to amaze me how the demons just waltz into preseason after every other team (sometimes 3 months after) and then are still able to turn it on come round 1! Pilmore must be flogging them!

It's coz they always play a month after most teams and the boys keep fit in the off season. Something other clubs who wanna make a serious assualt on the flag should and would be doing!

drove past the goolwa oval on my way home from work tonight and noticed a couple very fit looking blokes out there kicking end to end while the rest were doing running. Are they new recruits or were they just having a look?

Langhorne Creek coaches tonight held a fitness test with new recruit Shane Fox at the Goolwa Primary School, Fox has been signed for $300 a game which ends months/years of speculation about Fox's playing future. The Goolwa boys will be out to get him come round 7.

I noticed on the GSFL program, the Magpies listed as "Goolwa" only. I wonder what the Pt Elliot think of that :-k or has the name of the club been changed?

Oversight from the GSFL GWW! We are certainly looking to maintain our Port Elliot links along with the heritage. In fact there will be an information evening at the Hotel Elliot for all Port Elliot business men/women, players, past players etc on the 17th of Feb so we are hoping that a few faces can be there and get behind the club.

Storm Boy you are a funny man. Yor eluding to Ryan Griffen and his mate and you certainly couldnt have picked that up from the road.

Footy05 what are you on about? Please don't make ridiculous and false statements, last night I went for a small kick and run around with a few good mates at the primary school. Creek coaches hahaha

Gee storm boy great spot from the road considering the position of Goolwa oval is only visible from one passing road and you would be lucky to be able to look at the oval for more than 10 seconds. I am sure all the Goolwa boys would like to see these two in the jumper but it is still great that they are out having a run with them.

Looks like we can shut the door and put to rest the rumours of Fox and where his playing future lies. In similar news, i've heard Brad Thompson has all-but signed with amateur club Glenunga for big $$$, now it seems we can move on from talking about these two pests, as their playing futures are decided for '09! Hoorah!
