Unless they had about 10 injuries to midfielders he won't get a game. Otten and a few others on the main list would play before Brodie. Theres no hurry for him to be promoted to the main list especially as he's only played 2 or 3 SANFL league games anyway.

His main goal at this stage would be to be promoted to the main list at the end of the season.

Played junior (and some A Grade) footy with Meningie in RMFL, then went to Sturt about 3 years ago and played underage footy there. Played some good Under 19's footy late last year that got him onto the Crows rookie list. Made his SANFL debut a few weeks ago and was recognised with an award (see SANFL thread) for his efforts against South at Murray Bridge on Sunday.

cheers mate sounds like a good prospect ..there are more and more of these storys of these sort of players eg. porps, rutten etc.that have to work really hard for there spot and then go on to be good players and its good to see ....just goes to prove that you dont have to be drafted at 18 to habve a shot at the show !!!!!!!

You're right mate, and although i'm a Port man, and not a Crows supporter, it is really good to see a country lad (from Meningie) get onto an AFL list, albeit as a rookie.

Bit of a Sam Elliott clone for mine, does he have enough 'hurt factors' to make it? Re-rookied at best IMO but the signs are on the improve.

I get where you're coming from TWE and agree, Adelaide's done well from the rookie's and "mature players" but Brodie Martin is still only 19, maybe 20.

If the Crows' hierarchy say Walker's not ready then Brodie won't play in 2008 despite being an outstanding footballer.

But..then again the Crows' Hierarchy knows best......always.

Agreed SP, you must question the Crows hierachy picking Martin instead of young Tommy Holmes....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

If he doesn't get the Rising Star nomination this week, it would be a surprise. For a debutant, his disposal efficency was exceptional and won good, contested footy also. The number of times he broke the lines was impressive. Loved the chutzpah to take on Riewoldt on the outer wing and beat him in a pure pace contest.

He was very impressive ... some of him team mates could have done no worse than to follow his desire and attitude.

... and FFS, he didn't kick a goal with his first kick in football BT
