Your kidding arent you? You must be Adrian. Yank have produced 3 AFL footballers, Greg Whit (Magarey medalist), Koster & Gowling (if a pre season game counts). However he was exciting to watch.

Sorry dude not Adrian, just a fan of Brenton and his skills just seeing what others thought thanks for your imput

Feasty has commitments with Sturt that will see him unavailable for about half of the minor round and Benny Moore should be right every week.

Not as far as I know. He hasn't played for them since 2007.

I wouldnt believe what the GSFL stats say. Every Saints player got credited with a B Grade game last year in Round 14 v Willunga at Goolwa. It was probably a B Grade performance but surely we can still claim our A Grade stat.

Paul Crate was his first coach at Willunga in 2001. Used to play him off the bench a lot.

Portlocks well past his best!

I think Yank will be the dark horse in 2009, finished last year of really well and play with alot of passion. As for Willunga, i'd put alot of $$$ on them to finish minor premiers maybe with a 15-3 win/loss and to make the Grand Final. Their finals record speaks for itself, but every finals series is a different ball game. Their run of premierships has to come to an end at some stage and i think BJ and his cliche's are very much spot on for 2009. Creeks will be the one's to really challenge the Demons.

Yank are definitely a smokey spot on Damian! Victor are the other side i can see making a run at the big one. Luke Ellis will have them primed and playing an exciting style of footy, Sammy J and Pitto will be the bookends and straighten them up, something they certainly need!!! The Creeks will be right there at the end of the season along with Strathalbyn from what im hearing. Havent heard much from Compass, has Bailey departed? Schmidt? Cheetham? They did the right thing in recruiting some height in the Creek brothers, but they will not win them games when it comes to the crunch. Burdett still the key up there!

The Creek boys can definately play, but i feel pretty confident in saying Compass will again be pretenders. 2009 should be the closest season we have had in a long time.

Add Dale Ellis to the Victor line up and if they can all stay fit we should see alot of improvement from the Roo's in 09.

One of the things that has helped the bigger and highly skilled sides has been the dry weather for the last 3 years.
We played in one wet game. ..very wet game at Pongy this year and that has been it.
Wet weather does even up the sides especially when it comes to fitness and hardness at the ball.
We can all remember Compass in 2003 when hailstones were floating around the ground during the reserves Prelim and the following game when
the hot favourites were beaten in the A grade
Bring on some rain in 2009.

Victor have the set-up to be top 3 at the end of the minor round, great improvement. Compass will miss Schmidt, but have kept Cheetham, Fromm and Bailey, the Creek will definitely improve with their ins still will not match Willunga. The Ds have the wood on them! What are you hearing about Strath BJ, because it has been very quiet over there? Is Hickey and J Richardson still on board?

Not a bad comment BJ
By the way Portlock is nowhere near past it. A good player to watch, but could work on a little defensive action...up from none :D
[]Encounter Bay...A proven Coach who talks a lot, a real lot. They will miss the skills of the two Love boys, but not miss their lack of discipline.
Will also miss the steadying influence of Heuskes. Not too sure how the boys from Maccy will take the step up and Mitchell has to be closer to 40 than 35 but will kick his 40 goals from the pocket.
Goolwa.. New Coach and I am unsure how much coaching he has done, however he has been in top 5 sides as a player so I am sure he will add a bit. Ewer a good pick up but may need some help. Good junior programme will help over time
Victor...Ellis is a gun player and his brother a big in. Will miss Saunders. Some decent juniors on the way up. Too much for too few
Mclaren ..They have done well to appoint Steve Hill, who is a well respected and proven Coach. Hart can play, but may need to lose a couple of KG. Young Fenoughty will add some pace and they have a young squad with top juniors coming in
Willunga.... Top side by far, well coached and great depth. Do they still have the passion? you would think so however the other sides might have a bit more to play for. Guitink in for Ryan. The Moose can be covered.
Compass. A much improved club. Solid Juniors and a couple of decent recruits. They did however dissappoint in the finals. Webb and Burdett in the middle are dangerous and Fromm works very very hard ;
Strath.. Red Shoes the go. Flogged in Grand Final and that might hurt. Outside side with pace and run forward well. Lost a few from last year.
Still in top 4
Langhornes. Look a real threat to Willunga and Strath. Great recruits
Myponga...Will struggle No depth
Yank....Lost a few and got a few.

Top 4 Willunga, Langhornes, Strath and Compass
followed by Encounter Bay, Victor and McLaren fighting for 5th
Yank, Goolwa and Myponga

Fair to say that the events of that day, particularly the gracious reaction of the victors still drives the Demons to work that little bit harder to this day X( .
