This time I voted for City Mazda Stadium as my favourite ground. Relatively easy parking, electronic scorebord, best bbq in the state, good vantage points.

Here's my list of favourite grounds from favourite to least favourite

City Mazda Stadium (as mentioned above)
Prospect - easy parking (if you know the right spots), good atmosphere around the ground, decent vantage points, facilities on the decline though.
Elizabeth - Home ground. Easy parking, good vantage points, good atmosphere (especially at night). Main area for improvement would be the PA system.
Challenge Recruitment - Pretty decent ground. Good facilities, good vantage points.
Woodville - Facilities on the decline but all up still a good ground, and better than others in the competition. Good vantage points around the ground.
House Brothers - Ok parking is hell, and don't forget the doggy bag on the way in, but I like the ground. Vantage points are good, but facilities could be better. Nonetheless the smaller spectator area makes for a good atmosphere.
Alberton - Average facilities, like Hamra in need of a improved PA system, average vantage points.
Hickenbotham Oval - the renovations have made the ground more respectable, but this is negated by the fact it is by the far the most unprofessionally operated ground in the SANFL, which keeps the rating down. Also, who had the idea of putting a light tower in front of the scoreboard!

Coopers Stadium - still by far the worst ground in the SANFL. Awful parking, terrible spectator facilities, the worst vantage points in the ground (besides the great wall of Norwood, you can barely see the western side of the ground). Despite Centrals having a good record there in recent times, still dread going to this hovel of a ground.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

These threads always finish up with the majority (a few honourable exceptions) voting for their own team's ground.

How about doing it properly?

What about first deciding on the things that are important in rating grounds; eg; surfaces, parking, atmosphere, greenery, viewing, scoreborad, etc, then discussing one of those at a time and coming to an order for each.

That might take some of the bias out of it and we might arrive at a fair order.

To start, what factors are important?

I voted for the Bay, love the place and when they have decent toilets and night footy it'll be perfect (well if you got rid of the actual team and most of their supporters too), also the quickest oval for me to get to from home.
Love the size of it, love the grass, love the new bar setup, love the Holdy Hotel for a schnitty beforehand.
My next favourite is Norwood, love a Friday night game there and only oval that serves a decent beer, loses points for the bad hangovers that place gives me.
After that it would be:
Prospect
Richmond
Thebarton
Woodville
Alberton
Footy Pk

Noarlunga
Adelaide Oval

Yeah, but the thread's title is "your favourite ground".

For me:

Norwood - Naturally ... Nostalgia, atmosphere, my favourite beer available - Downside is that in the outer I don't think it's the most viewing friendly oval.
Glenelg - A bit like Norwood, it fit's into my category of "Party Game", plenty of Beers and Cheers and places to kick on at afterward.
Alberton - Close to home, normally know a few ppl there
Woodville - Similar to Alberton
Adelaide Oval - Good viewing and again good places to kick on at afterward
Richmond - Great food, easy to access drinks, like the bar and clubrooms, easy parking, great viewing.
Thebby - Only been there once in 20 years, but great playing surface, easy parking.
Unley - Always a good atmosphere.
Prospect - Haven't been there much in the last 10 years, but haven't had too many problems getting a drink or feed ... Think I might try the Outer side next time I go.
Elizabeth - Bot of a hike by comparison to other grounds, but I like it (bar the drubbings), plenty of space, good viewing, no dramas grabbing a feed or drink (although I've never hit the turps due to driving factor) .. Oh, good atmosphere too.
Noarlunga - Same as Elizabeth
Footy Park - I usually just sit in the Crows Bar for the games.

For me it is Richmond oval followed closely by the Bay both are good for viewing have good facilities for the spectators and have good surfaces for the players.

I always get to park no more than 1 street away from Prospect, can't say I've ever been able to park that close to the Parade (except Jnr & Ressies finals), Unley is just as bad as the Parade, the rest all have easy parking.

Most other grounds I don't have a problem with, Unley being the only exception, just as bad as Norwood.

Well I did expect it....NOARLUNGA !
Wind swept, light poles in front of scoreboard, 12 spectators, 2 light years away to travel...the list goes on.
There is more atmosphere in a public library than at at Noarlunga and Richmond.

This may come as a shock to you, but i have only watched SANFL football on three grounds.

Alberton, Prospect and The Parade.

From best to least best. ;)

1. The Parade (saw a night game there, was great!!)
2. Alberton (been there quite a few times, good!!)
3. Prospect (i have played a half time game there but i didn't watch much of the League, was good too)

I think it comes down to a bit of local knowledge. Never had a problem at Unley, always get a prime spot a couple of streets away. Prospect is by far the worst for me but then I don't know the area so well.

Having a look at the poll results so far it's obvious the only fans that enjoy watching footy at Elizabeth are Dogs supporters - who else in their right mind is happy watching footy at dog crap park.

That wouldn't be the 14-16 year old ones on the members side slightly to the northern end.
We have stood just infront of them before and geez i knew about every person they had slept with, every drug and drink they had ever had and heard the word c*#t more times than i have in my entire life, and i have grown up in Elizabeth.
They are a disgrace.

I find it difficult to separate House Brothers' Oval and Woodville.

Woodville's Club is great. TAB, Great friendly staff and good value meals.
