May have to recruit him as a waterboy at best.

Stormy, you'll find Thompson played A grade games in the Hills league in the last few years whilst juggling golf commitments.
Only time will tell if he's good enough to make an impact in the GSFL.

Half the posts on this site are obviously from the same people using several user names if you look at the date joined and the amount of posts. Its also obvious because we are still talking crap about the same couple of players over and over again.

In other news here is our new logo. Care factor may be low, but surely it's more interesting than the Thompson/Fox show?

It will depend on when Ryan comes home from a working holiday in Canada FB, he could be home with in 2 months if that is the case pending points value in what ever league it maybe we will play along side each other.
LF the new logo looks the goods. I just showed the old man, he may kick Ryan and I out the family if we play against that!

Hi I have been looking at this forum for a few weeks now, I am no longer involved with footy but used to play B grade for Strathalbyn back when Linton Bishop and Rob Donaldson had the top coaching position.
I noticed last year they went well but I have not heard a great lot about them for 09, does anyone know in's/out's for the roosters and how they may go?

He played a few games at Callington over last few years.
I've heard first hand that he's not playing this year anyway, so not sure who these blokes think they are talking about.

the_big_bang wrote:hey guys,

i was just wondering, and i'm sorry if this brings up some painful memories for some demons, but before their impressive run of 5 straight, how many GF's did willunga lose?

when i first moved down here, i can remember that it was a bit of a running joke that willunga were chokers and would never win a flag.

not havin a dig, as i would be stupid to do such a thing. i asked my boss, and he said he thinks they made 3 straight GF's before they won in their 4th apperance.but he wasnt sure. can anyone tell me?

and if it wasnt 3 straight losing GF's, what was it? i mean, did they make 3 in 4 years or something like that? and my boss also thinks that for a couple of these seasons, they were, or close to, undefeated.

cheers guys.

once again, sorry if this rubs salt into some wounds.

Big Bang, why? WHY? ;)

No wounds reopened. Willunga lost the GF from 00-02. 2000 (Strath) was a tight game, not being involved at the club but was watching the sides were very even and the 8 point margin reflects that. 01 and 02 Langhorne Creek were the better side in my opinion. We just werent good enough to win. 2003 was the year we feel that got away, but in saying that Mclarens did a fantastic job to win from where they did. We lost the prelim by 6 points in a wet slog at Mt Compass.

Personally i felt the choker tag was not appropriate as we didnt choke any of those first 3 years (00-02), 2003 you could say was a choke but Strathalbyn finished top that year. 2003 has been the major motivation behind our success since as watching 2 other sides play in a GF on our home deck when you feel like you should be playing is a bitter pill to swallow.

Hope that clears some things up.

Great news for the creeks. Toddy is a super player and a damaging half back with that precise left foot kick of his!!!

Any news on Nick Warren and a teaching post in the country?

I believe he is teaching in Whyalla but will probably fly back to play for the Creeks.
Keiren Buckley is being courted to drive/fly from Mt Gambier as well.

Wow, big efforts to play each week there, both from the club $$ wise and the players! I had heard Ciaran Buckley was going to play for the creeks but had some mates coming with him but with the points system they couldnt all fit so hes signed to play with a div 2 ammo side. Could be very very wrong tho as i heard this about a month ago.

With Dellatore back, Warren staying on if Buckley returns the Creeks would surely start favourite with Feast, Sherwood and Moore added to last years 3rd place side.

I played in the B's mate but from trainings and what I seen and heard he was very technical and studys other sides games/individuals alot, he seems like the type of coach that can desighn a game plan to tackle most oppositions and he can exicute it well but can sometimes struggle to motivate some guys.

I heard a similar thing from the Encounter Bay guys, so it will be interesting to see how he goes out at Morphett Vale this season. He has a very talented side to play with, but from talking to a few of the MV boys they do need someone who will motivate them.
