Attending SANFL games.

Postby hearts on fire » Fri Jan 16, 2009 1:12 pm

Being brought up in an era where the AFL is all over the TV, i have never have really had a chance to follow the SANFL in a proper manner. I have been to SANFL games before, but not for a very long time. This year, i have decided to pay more attention to it and i will try to get along to any game possible.

If anyone has any ideas for me, on some sort of membership or pricing info, that would be much appreciated.

A SANFL season pass is a good way of going depending on how many matches you feel like seeing! 8)

If you are u/18 HOF u can just turn up to any SANFL game and get in free of charge. But you can still become a junior member of your club of choice.

There's memberships without tickets if you are busy and can only get to a couple games.
Then there are ones that come with home season tickets (for games at the clubs home games)
Then there are ones that include all 20 h&a games the club plays.
None include finals as no one can be sure if a club will make the finals.
Prices vary from club to club.

yes, i am 15, well almost 16, but i wasn't sure if it was free for under 18 or under 16.

i think just rocking up on the day of a match would be the best option, because i don't think i would be able to make it every week.

Get along mate. Even at $9 the SANFL represents exceptional value. I couldn't give a monkey's about the so-called National game, over umpired sterile crap that it is.

yeah, i am willing to pay to get in, from what i remember of the SANFL, the atmosphere is electric and you don't get the same at the AFL.

Dunno about that mate, I was at the last 3 AFL finals last year and nothing compares to that, I love the SANFL for many reasons but for more of an electric atmosphere isn't one of them. The MCG on Anzac Day is slightly more electric than sitting in the outer of Noarlunga in the middle of July, trust me. ;)

Its much more relaxed at the SANFL with more room to move and that's how we like it. ;)

The 99% of the AFL games i have attended have been Power games and i can tell you that SANFL has a better atmosphere ;)

Well there's your problem right there. My office at the moment has a better atmosphere than Power games.
Try a few "real" games in Melbourne and its a hell of a lot different I can tell you.

Yeah thats true, i went to a Final in Melbourne between North Melbourne and Port in 1999 at the MCG, i think Carey kicked a bag, but i can't remember much. I also went to the Dome to see the Western Bulldogs and Port at a regular home and away match and i can't remember much too.

I remember a few Showdowns though and they were pretty good.

One day i will go to a Grand Final and all the big matches and then i will know the real electric atmosphere.

The season pass is superb value even if you don't go to all the games.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Reckon it's going to be $10 for adults this year. Doesn't void your sentiments at all though, and I agree with them wholeheartedly.

In 2009, what does $10 get you these days? Still good value IMO.
