Some anonymous clubs are so used to it that they just take it for granted or enjoy the prospect :)

I'm sure Norwood have managed to persuade the 8 or 9 ex-AFL players they've signed in 2 years to play within the cap rules.

She's deaf to the cap, topsy, but already covered ;)

After recruiting Doyle, Trotter, Phillips and Davis last year, they've been able to afford 5 players off AFL lists, (Hughes, Lee, Campbell, Massie, Jericho), plus re-sign McGuinness.

They've lost nobody really expensive, so it's a very, very good effort.

Yeah but take into account that Massie and Jericho were pretty much sitting there anyway.

Looking at the ins and outs at the top of the forum page Im pretty pleased with the Legs efforts this year.
North have recruited heavily but the rest seem to be no better or worse off than last year.
Sturt look hard hit.

Congrats at Norwood for getting together a great list for 2009

Pity about Robbie De Jong and Adam Cockshell, I, along with many Norwood supporters wish them well in their selected new teams,
except when they play Norwood.

Cheers

No problems about Cockshell, we'll just get a couple of injured players to invite him out for a drink the night before the game :)

Massie, Jericho and Campbell were also on a nominal amount for the cap last year. They are full tote odds this year. Remarkable effort to sign them on such low, low, salaries for 2009.

R&B If Jericho gets paid for his normal brand of footy, his payments should not impact on the salary cap.

I believe it has something to do with a pending salary cap fine...might be wrong.
The salary cap should be ignored by clubs and not enforced by the SANFL because it is an AFL imposition and totally unrealistic for our competition !
The AFL wants the VFL to be the second best not the the SANFL that's why the AFL is really the old VFL with another name.

He has been around for a long time. Perhaps it is just time to stop working and we don't need to look for implications.
