does any one know were courtney johns is playing this year, i have just been on the port magpies website and there is a few photos of the big feller out at training is he signed any were because last i heard he was at north?

A few months ago he was initially linked to Norwood but I don't think he trained with them and as you know he is now training with the Magpies.

From what I'm led to believe he has signed with the Magpies based on the fact he didn't get picked up in the AFL Pre Season Draft. That didn't happen obviously (and was probably never going to) so I reckon he may be in the Black and White prison stripes in 2009. Will be a handy player at SANFL level if he stays fit.

he is a man mountain and you would think he would be a big asset in the SANFL.

in the photo i seen he was wearing a huge leg protector of some desciption starts under his shorts and finishes near his ankle ?

I know there were rumours floating aorund about CJ being chased by Norwood, but I don't believe that to be the case, I think people just had him mixed up with Andrew Lee who we were chasing pretty hard.

I was of the impression CJ was signed and sealed and will front for the Maggies this year.

I think I read somewhere that he did spend some time in Adelaide as a kid, somewhere down South maybe ???

Can't explain the Port supporting though, may be a slight family connection there I think ???

why would that influence him to play for port? has he actually been hear training anywhere?

Played and lived in Adelaide Hills as a youngster! Played Cricket for Woodside, and footy for Onkas untill about 16 i think. Heard he has played a couple of games of cricket this year in Hills Comp, so knee cant be too bad. Also think he has an offer from a Perth Club, so might be going there yet.

Yeah was in Adelaide as a kid, and was in the under age cricket squads at the SACA.
I know Matthew Richardson was a coach at the SACA for sometime so maybe there is a connection there.

heard from mate today, not happening! He is going back to Perth due to them being able to give him a good job. Dissapointing for SANFL and Port.
