Just read the draw and from a Centrals perspective some surprises in there.

- Only 3 nights game at Hamra Homes. Why, especially when the SANFL has emphasised night games as a feature?
- North and Prospect twice, the Eagles and South at Hamra twice, and Norwood at Coopers twice (2nd time in 3 seasons this exact combination happened) - lets hope the season pans out like 2007 though
- Rivalry round against North Adelaide - what rivalry.
- With the 3 Adelaide Oval games in the first half of the season, I take it the redevolopment won't be starting til later in the year - don't know how they're going to get it done in time for the cricket.

Also for those Centrals supporters that need to hire antartic gear, they're playing South at Hickenbotham in round 13 (Sunday June 28 - so it will be hovering around 0 degrees for the game) :D :D :D

I lucked out on the Dogs getting a BYE on Saturday 29th August, MY WEDDING DAY !! :D

They play Sturt at Elizabeth under lights so will be a good game to miss unfortunately. :(

Hopefully 5RPH will cover the game (and I hope they get reception in Clare) so I can have 1 ear piece on listening to the game while I'm doing the bridal waltz !!??

I wish the SANFL would programme the third game between South and Central at a neutral venue like Thebarton Oval - other than that, the draw looks pretty good, lets hope that City Mazda has the lights up soon and revision to the programme is forthcomming in that area!

I'd be looking forward to it too.... but I think the missus will walk out on me if I don't take her out for dinner on her birthday.

D'you think she'll go for a bistro meal after the game? :-k

Umm I'll book in now Psuedo. A twilight game at the Bay v Sturt will be huge!!!!

A Sturt supporting collegue here at work has already mentioned to his wife to expect him home late that day.

Me thinks another 5 figure crowd is not out of the question, in fact with Port/Norwood on a Fri night and then Centrals unveiling the flag Saturday night against the Eagles me thinks a 30 000 round crowd is a possibility

Don't twell me Rd 1 hasn't been planned to get huge crowds!!!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Looks like the SANFL are going in hard for some bumper crowds in the first 2 rounds, perhaps to try and get a few ppl onboard certain bandwagons & set the scene for the rest of the season:

Round 1: Norwood v Port - Coopers (N) & Glenelg v Sturt - Challenge Recruitment (4.30pm)

Round 2: Port v Glenelg - Alberton & Sturt v Norwood - House Brothers

Sturt in 2009:

v Port, Glenelg, North & West X3

NO bye on either side of the State game for once.

3 night games and 1 twilight game.

Only 2 (minor round) Sunday games (late in the minor round)

3 Big clashes in the last 3 weeks - 2 versus this year's grand finallists and then Port at Alberton.

Suits me fine. Bring it on..

Umm you don't.

South/West and big Crowds is an oxymoron, well in the modern era anyway.

Maybe West could have be schedules with their traditional rivals (2007 rivalry round), North, if teh SANFL wanted a bigger crowd total in Rd 1

No Glenelg game at Elizabeth :( :( :( :(

Only 3 of the first 7 games are Friday night games....why do they continue to miss such a great opportunity? :?

Happy with the variety of days/times of Glenelg home games
