Have heard that Pollard is staying at Morphies to get his life membership

I agree that all flags are special, but Willunga havent won 09 yet! Someone who comes to a club for thier first year needs to work thier ring off to get to where the others have worked to in the past..
If we got off this topic and got back onto the topic of recruits and where clubs are heading in 09 then people would have some sort of an idea where theyre at next year!

Clubs would need to have alot of luck to stop willunga next year. With Chris Patterson pos back to Willunga and a fit Matty Thomas, only played 6 or so games this year plus whoever else rocks up, they'll be hard to stop. Hams doesnt want to share that record with his old man either, 140 next year

Its funny how people think they know ya just from reading what you've done in the past, so just to be clear Hammsy is the no.1 forward and yes he proberly always will be. Im just keen to do the hard yards to hopefully be a part of a great year!
I dont think its a bad thing if someone wants to improve where theyre at with thier footy and maybe take that extra step, why not do it at a club so proud like Willunga?

A premiership, that would be another reason to go to Willunga.

Heard on the rumour mill that Yank are busy recruiting but could not be told any names. I'm pretty sure they have retained the services of most of their plasyers from last season, except koster, so i reckon they will be around the mark next year. I also heard they are in the process of changing their guernseys to the traditional tigers (Richmond, Glenelg) style.

Isn't a premiership the reason Bayli$$ went to Jervois?

Don't think a premiership means as much if you waltz into a club and win it first year. Don't get me wrong a flags a flag but they mean so much more when you earn it with the guys that have been there from the start.

For starters there is only one dollar sign in Bayli$!
Not everyone has the privilege of playing in a Grand Final let alone winning one and not everyone has been playing for 10 years either, so any opportunity to win a premiership is going to be just as special if you are there for one year or 10. If you have worked hard all year with the team and done the hard yards are you saying you a less deserved of a medallion??? Not everyone is as lucky as you Morphy Boys and I think you guys take it somewhat for granted these days. Not everyone has been in the same position as you boys.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

Good points on both parts I think. I'd say that obviously any of you that have been at one club and found success then it would certainly feel a lot more than some new recruits, but in saying that as P32 has stated you have worked hard all year to establish yourself in that side and you have all become a tight unit..... obviously to win a flag.

I have been at the one club (at my own peril) for my football life and the slightest excitement of us even starting to play finals is amazing, let alone winning a GF. In that I would also like to say that I have seen an absolute number of people come and go from our club and not one is more appreciated than the next. People can give our club time and I appreciate it immensely but there unfortunatley ,through bad decisions, are people out their who are just after some easy coin and to not see the club get back on their feet properly. This over time has taken a lot to get use to and to learn from, and to now look at it as though, come if you want to be a part of a developing club and part of a great environment but no longer will we pay for these big one year players. There is always another side to it and having been in both parties shoes it is something that if you choose to take these players on then no matter the result it would still taste as sweet.

well said... having been at one club also and been pumped by 10 goals a week then coming and playing in 3 consecutive GFs there is a great sense of achievement with those who've been alongside you through thick and thin. but ive also played in premierships with their guys in their first year at the club and they are just as much a part of the team and success as anyone.

like gooch112 said, willunga have not won anything on 09 yet. while they'll go in as hot favourites theres shitload of footy to be played. like we've seen in SANFL and AFL anything can happen come finals and it only takes on player to get injured or one small thing to go wrong to lose a game.

if other teams are going into the season thinking willunga are going to win and win confortablythat atitude will reflect in their performance

09 is a fresh start and i think you'll be surprised in what it has to offer. dont write ANYONE off yet

Thats the dream 1250! One club, going through rough times but then eventually coming out the other side and cracking it for the big one with your mates! Jumping from club to club just to find that success may bring some reward but not the "ultimate" reward.
You can love football, but it wont always love you back!

son isn't this great... blue skies, fresh cut grass, birds chirpin..

surely PC wasn't bent enough to let you lads take the carts out there, and if so how many were returned in their original state?

last time we played together you spent more time in the sand than david hasselhoff....

Michael King rumoured to be returning home, looking for a club. Will he return to Goolwa where he was the biggest waste of cash in recruiting history?

There was no award for the winner but Hamsy shot an even par 72 on the Mccracken Golf Course! Quality golf!

Wang, i think you will find last time we played together ur inflated reputation as a golfer brought u unstuck and u shot over 90 at Willunga! Unluckily for you i was well under that and you ended up handing over the cash!!!

Was a top day TW. Highlight was in our group on the 17th tee it was decided to tee off in our underpants and the big Plugga being involed was a sight to see. The big man won the nearest to pin on the Par 3 and strutted his stuff as only the graceful big man can!!!

about as tough as brad thompson finds it to get his balls off the ground in any form of sport/recreational activity.

i took a glance in the direction of the victor harbor region sunday arvo, and i believe i was lucky enough to witness big plugs soaking up the achievement with a leisurely stroll across the green. all this from the balcony of my humble aldinga abode.

he's certainly no hobbit if i can see him from such a distance.

If i could just add, as an ex-demon and a member of their 3 losing grand finals (4 total) with them pre 2004, getting that monkey off the back in 04' was the most amazing feeling and will never be matched in my career, as it was all but the same players who stuck it out in search of that pot of gold. It really did not compare anywhere near the flag i won when i stepped into my new club in 06. The level of history behind the premiership is always going to heighten the celebrations. any 1 trying to compare a walk in flag to one that is truly earnt is kidding themselves.
