Im not a fan of the guys running North Adelaide at the moment but if the COACH isnt the main man directing the recruiting issues, then he is not giving the job 100%.

At West Adelaide Andy Collins is coach, Football Manager Scott Turner is equally involved.

At Norths Im sure Jars as coach had a huge say but Football Manager James Moore would have a HUGE say on player recruitments, its his job as well plus im sure there is a recruiting committee

Perhaps if the thread title wasn't as provocative it wouldn't invoke such a response. If you are going to post stuff like this name names or don't bother. Is there any need to title the thread "oh no another rooster rumour!!!". Wouldn't have "3 players cut by North" been enough. It's not like North will be the only club to move players on or that there is anything sinister in what has occured despite what the title of the thread suggests.

i put the word 'rumour' in rather than 'cut' because i didn't know it was public knowledge & thought it unfair to the players & to the person that told me that is closely involved
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Why the words "oh no another" then? Players being cut happens at every club every year. The Western Bulldogs told Scott West (a 300 game 7 time B&F winner) to pack his bags. Personally i'd like to have Brett White still at the club but the football department have to do what they think is in the best interests of the club winning games of football.

Brett White was not sacked. He was told that he was not in the best 25 on the list but was welcome to stay, do the pre-season and take his chances. He choose not to but in all honesty he was contemplating hanging up the boots at the end of this season before any coaching announcements were made.

Ward was told, based on perfromances this year that if he stayed that it would be a reduced contract. He also choose to leave.

McGahey was already retiring.

As for O'Brien, he had some personal issues that factored in his demise and to be honest he was a huge dissappointment so the coach got that one right (as well!)

So I fail to see why there is so much talk and hysteria surrounding these decisions - ones which all clubs make every year, especially when a new coach comes in!

I can only see positives since Healy's appointment at Prospect , can't disagree with anything which has transpired so far.

When I spoke to him a week before his departure was mentioned on the Roost he was looking forward to pre season he was looking forward to his first injury free start to a pre season in a few years, things must have changed in the next 3-4 days.

What's the 'big deal' on which words are used? They all mean the same thing. Sounds like another Rooster 'Cock up" tp me, they continue to make them but who is held accountable for them?
Now that is just plain dumb, don't you think?

I wonder whether Heals will be whispering in the ear of a few players he coached out at Centrals a couple of years ago ???

THere would be a few fringe league players that just couldn't get into the Doggies league team that might be looking for opportunity elsewhere ?

How bloody self centred and patronising Biggy. Not good enough for Centrals so they will be ok for North.

Didn't mean for it to sound like that jtc, sorry mate

My way of saying that I have heard a few whispers about a couple of "fringe" league players looking for better opportunities elsewhere and with the Centrals association Healy has, it seems a good fit at North (as it has for many "fringe" players from Centrals who have gone on to play a fair bit of league footy with you guys - Josh Coulter, Tim Cook, Matthew Kreig, Ben Walton just to name a few)

Wedgie will give me what I deserve when we catch up on Friday night, sorry again mate :D

Fairy nuff Biggy.

imo Coulter wasn't up to it at North. Had a few good days but too many bad days and gave way too many stupid free's away. Don't know what he was like at CDFC. Don't think Kreig was up to it either, but again, that's just my opinion.

Kreig certainly had his limitations but he was a valuable contributor to our club in his time with us. He did what was asked of him more often than not. His time has come though and he certainly wasn't at his best during 2008.
