I have been told they have delisted him but have told him that they will pick him up again in the draft. He is going to be given another year.

Possibly because they have to delist a certain of players, and he was considered the best option to delist and then pick up again - they probably reasoned that the Crows wouldn't pick him up again so in all likelihood he will be available again late in the draft of PSD.

Seems strange to me too. If you intend on keeping the player, just keep him and give no one else a chance of picking him up, however unlikely that may be.

If I was Pfieffer Id be asking for that in writing or even better give me the contract now!

carlton had 6 delisted/retired and 5 rookie spaces already vacant before pfeiffer was delisted. so it seems strange that they delisted him IF they are going to pick him up again.
