must have improved since high school struggled to get a game in our first side at henley when he was in year 12, great athlete though and good build

Have got to know Ash and his Mum well this year, both lovely people, very genuine...

I would say he was one of the reserves most improved players out at Centrals this year, and it would not suprise me at all if he polls well in the ressies B&F. I saw him play a few Under 19's games last year and the improvement to reserves grade football has been exceptional.

Ash is a classy left footer, half back flanker who hits the ball hard and runs the lines, carrying the ball and generally uses it well. He is very athletic, very fit and gives 110% for the Dogs jumper EVERY time. I know he was very close to getting a league game this year.

Ash also played in the State Under 20's side earlier in the year agaiunst the State Under 20's. He probably would have had close to 6 or 8 BOG's throughout the year and thoroughly deserves to play league football for the club next year.

yes i am very well aware, i did say hes a very good player but IMO hes to small to play AFL and when he wasnt nominated for the draft and had to put himself in i think its pushing sh*t up hill

I have two trains of thought on this .One is it took mat stokes 3 years to get drafted and he was considered to small for the AFL by both Adelaide based clubs.
The other is purely from a selfish WWT point of view .If any player is to small for the AFL and they are a good football player .then I would be very happy if they stayed with WWT .

I hope that makes sense .

Years ago the WCE did it with Ashley McIntosh who played in the boondocks and out of sight. These days they prevent it I think by making sure draft nominees are part of a league club system. Besides, who can forget the time Peter Plus nominated for the draft?

also by saying that it also mean the eagles are deliberatly losing themself 20k as the rule is if a player gets drafted without playing league the club wont get a cent out of that 20 thousand

Glen Dawson is not being hidden from AFL scouts. They ALL know about him. Could not imagine a club coached by Ron Fuller trying to hide a youngster. Fuller makes sure as many as possible youngsters get an opportunity to show their wares so they can progress to the AFL.
IMHO Dawson at this stage can only play full forward and he is not big enough to play this position at AFL level. Has been given numerous opportunities at reserve level to establish positions other than full forward but has failed. Seems to get a little lost when he gets out from FF. Is wonderfully athletic, a very good mark and a good straight kick.
Being a state U17 cricketer might have interfered with his football development. Might have to choose between cricket and football.

I felt that Dawson in the preseason could have turned out a very good high marking forward .But as the year went on he fell off the pace a bit.Perhaps with a full preseason he might improve .

I liked the look of the under 17 lad we spoke about at one time Ferret sumner a fast indigenous lad .

The point is Fester, in order for your statement to have any truthful meaning behind it, it would involve Norwood winning the SANFL Grand Final in 2009. Now why would you say that when, first of all, we know Norwood aren't good enough to even get there, secondly, Centrals are going to win it again anyway.
