the Roosters have asked The SANFL for a Twilight Game at home for round 1, with the new light towers installed,
i will be there!!
11.15 am U/18s
2pm Reserves
5pm Seniors
This form of triple header would provide a great days entertainment, bring all our grades together and yet still be over by 8pm.
Well... I could be wrong this year then. Sounds like a great idea for most. Could be a frequent fixture for grounds with lights. I tend to dislike Sat night games buts thats me.
North has asked it for round 1, but will they get it?
Round 1 IMO should contain 1 Fri night, 1 Sat arvo, 1 Sat night and one Sun arvo. NFC would want the Fri night, CDFC would want the Sat night. For NAFC to get the Sat twilight, there would need to still be the Sat arvo for ABC coverage. For the 3 clubs to be happy, there will be 1 Fri and 3 Sat games. Not sure the SANFL will want that to market round 1.
The sun sets in Adelaide at 7:16pm CST on the 28th of March next year and 7:06pm CST on the 5th of April.
I think the twilight games should probably start no later than 4:30pm. It's a great idea, and I would think to have the three grades on the one day should be maximised where possible. I know the SANFL will never decide to start the season one week earlier than the AFL, so:
Round 1:
Friday 27th March:
Norwood vs Sturt (Norwood)
Saturday 28th Match:
Eagles vs South (Thebarton) - The ABC would love to get another Eagles match on TV.

And that South are the only team since the comeback of Thebarton not to have played there.
North vs Glenelg (Prospect)
Central vs Port (Elizabeth)
West bye
The commencement at Prospect for each match:
U/18: 10:50am
Res: 1:40pm
League: 4:30pm
At Elizabeth:
U/18: 12:50pm
Res: 3:40pm
League: 6:30pm
If any of this actually turns out to be true, then someone would have spiked some of the refreshments in the SANFL Headquarters.
