I think you misread me.

I said "Thats a start"
Not "That would be a start"

Having CS as a coach is a step in the right direction IMO.

Perhaps the SANFL will do you a favour and pit South up against Glenelg EVERY week in the 2009 fixture.

Well on the showings of last season you could say our best is not bad- ask a few Bay supporters!, and our worst is appalling-ask a few Sturt supporters!
We won 1.5 more games than we did in 2007.
We have exposed a heap of youngsters to what is required at league level with some promising results,ie James Boyd R/U in the magarey Medal. At one stage late in the season with 4-5 senior players out injured we fielded a league team with 13 players under the age of 21.
In time I believe Clay Sampson will be a quality coach. He has been thrust into the breach prematurely; he is a quality person and I believe he has the utmost respect of the players.
The problem for the club is what is or is not happening behind the scenes. Will the board hold its nerve for long enough to give Sampson a decent crack at it? Will the board do something completely different and keep their noses out of playing side of things, which would be a huge departure from the past 2 coaches tenures?
Can the club attract 4-5 experienced players that it so desperately needs to be competitive given its turmoil of the last 18 months?
Will the current board survive the AGM in December?
There are plenty of questions there but there have always plenty of questions, what if's and buts about South Adelaide. It's well and truely overdue but its about time everyone left their ego's in the carpark and pulled in the right bloody direction.

Westcoast, maybe the new jumper design sent out to members will help...NOT!! Apart from that stupid idea and ugly ugly design, stable coach, inlcuding Tony Burgess, Ben Hollands and Robbie Neill, vast majority of players have already re-signed including all the promising youth plus the senior players Parry, Torney, Warren Thewlis etc. Meeting at the club on the 15/10 for all members to attend to discuss (and vomit over) the new jumper design and Q&A session with board and coaches, this is all a good start.

While we have certainly paid the price for poor recruiting and over recruiting in the past it is imperative that we get a couple of experienced KPP's next year. The kids need to have the experienced bodies around them to open things up. Just some more leadership on each line and a committed bunch can see things turn around quite quickly.

Playing Glenelg more often would obviously also be of great assistance TB.....

I feel SA lost the plot when they appointed Pyman.

They now have one of the nicest guys in the SANFL at the helm.

Good luck U Panthers! :D

South has one of the best guernsey's going around - wht the heck would you want to change it for?
It's what's INSIDE the guersey that counts, and changing what's OUTSIDE a player won't make a shadow of difference.

Keep it as it is...

Its probably worthy of an alternative thread with pics of the alternative designs, yet it is my opinion that the move to change the guernsey of the club will be the thing that does finally split the club in half. Like any other SANFL club we have had our share of infighting over the years, but this issue will be easilly the worst of the lot and if it does cause a massive rift in the club all that will do is make sure the club contines to take its place at the bottom of the SANFL ladder.

I openly hate the idea of changing the guernsey as do many others that I have spoken to, yet I think that we are in for a long bloody battle in the months ahead, yet the positive at least could be that we might then actually deal with the issues that hold the club back. :?

A socialist revolution is coming?

Seriously. I'd really love to see South get there shit together, although not 9 GF's in a row, perhaps some regular success for them to get some excitement for the local game in the southern suburbs.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Believe me Barto (and other Southies) you don't want to see it, rmember the Woodville Warriors jumper with Warriors written across it and some space age face....this is worse. Typical of a A2 amatuer league club jumper (cue obvious comment re South and amateur  ). Not only don't we need it the alternative is disgraceful, who designed it and why bother are my questions.

Is it just the introduction of an away guernsey? If so then no big deal really and I'd be for it and join Norwood, Eagles, West, Central, Sturt and North? in having alternate guernseys.
Do you need it? Well as a Norwood supporter I say yes as it will mean we get to wear our traditional jumper against South at HOME!

Your traditional guernsey needs to stay though for all your home games.
