And I suppose a team which could manage 1.3 against Central's opponent would have made Central work harder?

Really good turnout at the Bay. Some of the players hitting the piss??? of course they are. Its the end of season....

To the absolutely disrespectful rude pricks front right of stage you need to seriously look at yourselves. Matt Bode, Ben Mules and Mark Mickan deserved FAR better than your inane chanting, yelling and carry on when they were trying to speak. It is the last time a great deal of people will hear from Bodey and your behaviour was a joke. Three times he stopped...repeated himself and tried to say his "thank you's. In the end he cut it short. DISGRACEFUL. There should have been SILENCE while he was speaking and then cheering and chanting once it was clear he'd finished or at least finished a sentence.
Ben Mules actually handed the mic back and said "should I go on"....

Awesome crowd, really good atmosphere... but some real ****heads who thought it was all about them.

mate, i was right up the front and it was sensational!

You little ripper...

What a great day it was to be a Doggies supporter...

Centrals proved to be the best team on the day, which is all that matters, despite being the 3rd best team throughout the minor round. Phenominal effort from an unbelievable club to win their 7th flag in 9 years. Despite some negaive posts on here (interestingly enough by fans who's side didn't play) I thought it was a great game and to see the Doggies set up the flag in the Premiership quarter kicking 7 goals to 2 was just sensational. Great team effort by all 21 players, in particular Buckets and the "old and slow" Gowans twins.

I think the man Roy Laird is legendary and is now right up there with the great coaches of all time with the 5 Premierships. Of course, the man who has been there for what seems like forever is Kris Grant. What a legend this man is, he has probably been the top reason behind our record equalling success. I was lucky enough to be out on the ground with some of the boys befire they headed off on their victory lap, it was an exoerience I will never forget. It made me think of 1 thing though, as I saw a few of the boys walk past...

There were 21 players who recieved Premiership Medallions today but there were another dozen or so blokes who represented the football club throughout different stages of the year, albeit for just 1 game or even most of the year. The following players are a part of the success, like Matty Slade mentioned...

1. Jonathon Griffin
2. Louis Hadden
3. Heath Lawry
4. Leigh Westhoff
6. Brad Symes
10. Charles Slattery
15. Lee Spurr
19. Earl Shaw
23. Justin Westhoff
29. Cameron Faulkner
34. Nathan Steinberner
39. Daniel Boyle
40. Daniel Haveleberg
43. Adam Switala

I mentioned to a few people today that we are so blessed to be Centrals supporters and the ride this cub has taken us on, of course more so in the last decade, has just been something I'm not sure we will see again in our lifetimes. Well done to Glenelg for a great year and making to it the decider, just beaten by a better team on the day. Well done to the Snouts for all the support you give your side.

GO U DOGGIES...

I think they said on the radio that he's now the 4th most successful SANFL coach (winning premierships) behind Cahill, Oatey and Williams now.
Im assuming those 3 coached in more than 6 years too!
Phenomenal effort by Laird, he seems a very deserving person too, all class IMHO.

Would be great if he is at Central long enough to reach the record of those three. I think it is 10 premierships for Oatey and Cahill, 9 for Williams. Not sure if Roy can challenge them, but boy, how sweet it would be. Today was probably Roy's greatest achievement. In previous seasons the playing list was probably stronger than today. However, I think the heart of the players today was every bit as good as in previous years.

Centurion, I remember saying similar words in 2000. The answer then was YES, not sure what the answer is now but would love it to still be in the affirmative! :D
