No John MacDonald and Seb Paynter both ineligible. George Thring ok though.

I'm not sure what the actual rules are. I'm sure the spirit is to prevent stacking sides. But Mcdonald two games in the league and Paynter has been a twos player for much of the season. If Herring can play then it is a crazy rule. I would say he was more of a first team player than either of the first two.

i would say that both J Mac and Seb would be fine to play. J Mac has only played 2 League games while Seb has played approx 4-5 games in total for the year.

For team harmony sturt are better off just playing the same team as in the semi final

I have seen it before where players drop back for the grand final and dont prepare properly for the game and the actual reserves players actually resent them coming back and taking a mates spot.

If anyone not available from the semi then bring a player down.

So probably fair for Paynter out and thring in.

Dmac unlucky not to be playing but having said that I bet if you gave him the choice he would take playing league the last 2 weeks over playing in the reserves grand final this weekend.

Postby sturtpeter » Fri Oct 03, 2008 2:38 pm

Sturt are a quality well-drilled team.

League players in this side like Jaenschy, Eckerman, Herring, Copping, Johncock.

Sturt by 55 points.

Go Sturt! :D

Just as well you put the comma's either side of copping, otherwise Herring would be in for a helluva day!

I still haven't seen teams, only squads of 25 or 26.

But whatever 21 that is going to take part for the Eagles, remember - can't should never at any time be in your minds. Believe in yourselves, like last Sunday, and you can do it.
