And the bookies had ST favourite ....
Thats 6 in a row GL have beaten ST now

3 KANE...................I consider him to be the best player at the club as well
2 RUDOLPH..............To beat and rebound of a 100 goal forward was outstanding after being KOed last week, should get drafted
1 BACKWELL............Just kept getting the ball, 2nd best player at the club

MARK OF THE DAY[Ala Barrie Robran]

you beauty!!!!

couldnt beleive the difference today, couldnt split our midfield...all brilliant and work beautifully as a team not only when they had the ball...the run was back out of the defence and the forwards got some delivery today....

while Sammy was sensational on Chambo today credit must be given to the harrasing by our midfield which ensured any entries were rushed and not directed with purpose..

Bring on the Dogs, repeat that effort and we have a shot at the unimaginable! :D

Dont think not shaking a hand before a game is an issue, I never once did it in the 50 odd games I played, its after a game you shake hands.

Sturt picked the wrong day to turn in their worst performance of the year but full credit to the Bays who played with great intensity and pressure all day. Before the match, based on last weeks results I thought Sturt would win comfortably.

The Bays however did get a great run with the umpires in the first half especially some of the 50-50 decisions that seem to go against Sturt however even the umpires were not a factor overall.

Congratulations Glenelg - you were too good and responded well to the critics (eg me) that questioned your status as a quality minor premier having lost to South twice this season. As a Sturt man I wasn't too worried at qtr time - expected Glg to start the game hard & fast in response to last week's showing and at qtr time Sturt had seemingly absorbed Glg's energy and seemed set to up the ante in the 2nd qtr. I certainly didn't expect to be 7 goals down at half time - could have been more if Glg hadn't missed some sitters during that quarter. After half time it didn't matter - us Sturt fans just sat and watched great players like Feast & Nelson & Whiteman in possibly their final matches just playing for respect - the whole season wasted due to 2 bad quarters of footy (4th qtr v CD in QF and the 2nd qtr today). Cruel game sometimes this great game of ours.

Mark of the Day??? It should have been a free kick against him!

As for comparing Grima to Robran - I won't bother responding!

I was surprised today. I really thought Sturt were going to do the job, but fair play to the Tigers, they were simply fantastic today and really smashed my Blues off the ball. We were lucky to be just one goal down at quarter time and we were hanging in there for a while in the second term, but then the Tigers finally got what they deserved late on, 4 goals and a 42 point lead.

Sturt threw everything they had at Glenelg in the third term and I think we had most of the play, were in attack a lot, but couldn't convert that into goals and in the end we were spent. Well done Glenelg, a superb finals performance and I hope they go on to give Centrals a going over and take out the premiership.

For Sturt, a disappointing finish to the season. We have to be honest as a club and say that this was a lost opportunity and that 2008 has given us no return on investment.

Congratulations Glenelg. Congratulations Centrals.

Better watch the replay - you might think different. From your angle it would have looked great though but as the commentators even said, technically should have been a free!

No chance Mick that you have had one or two sherbets???

Enjoy the win and the week and good luck next Sunday!

Have a GOOD look at the replay and have a CLOSE look[as the tribunal will be] at Mules hit off the ball on Thompson.
No more to say

Well I looked at the replay, and I didn't see Mulesy pick up Thompson and slam his head into the ground after completion of the legal bump.

Yes, Fabian... gee wizz... he should be traded, he just doesn't apply himself in my opinion... someone like him, with AFL aspirations, should be dominating around the ground, but I think he looks for cheap possessions far too often.

Look at MacKenzie at Centrals, I don't understand how someone that fat can play league football, but geez, that guy ripped Fabian a new one in the first final, MacKenzie applies himself and involves himself in contests.

Fabian doesn't do that...

If he had the heart of Feast, Fabian could be a real match winner...

and congratulations to Ian Perrie for shaking hands to play with the GFC at the start of the year .... and then signing a contract with Sturt.

If that welcher had even the slightest amount of integrity, he'd be playing in a grand final next week.

I offer genuine commiserations to every other Sturt player and their fans, who are typically decent folk.

Deluca is the worst player on an AFL list. He could quite possibly be the worst player on an SANFL list too.

And if the one and only bloke at North who wanted Perrie gone (Jarman) had any sense back then Perrie would have been on holidays for past 3 weeks! Although had he stayed we may well have made the 5.

You could give Fabian Feasty's heart & also MacKenzie's pies but Fabian simply hasn't improved much in his time in South Australia and the only way from here for him is home back to the vfl.
