I have to say I thought the ABC coverage was very good today. Good camera work and commentators who were accurate with player recognition, unbiased and letting the product speak for itself instead of trying to become the focus themselves.

Although it didn't happen often today, there's one flaw that should become Rule 1 for TV producers.

Don't show replays while the game is moving on

Why do they think we want to see something twice, but miss what's actually happening. Sure, show a replay of something interesting at the next convenient break, but not at the expense of the continuing game.

The only thing worse is the compulsory cut away shot of the coach looking into space while we miss what's happening on the field.

(Actually the ABC are only guilty of the first. It's the AFL stations that are guilty of the second, but I don't want to run foul of the Moderators for being in the wrong forum) :D

I was very critical of the ABC coverage about 4 or 5 years ago but must say IMHO its been exceptional in recen times and I agree with you 100% R&B.
Well done ABC!

R&B I made the same comment to my mate at the time - was that when Glenelg were about to shoot for goal and they flashed to Rick MacGowan in the coach's box?
