Sturt 4.2 8.2 16.4 19.5 (119)
Port 4.3 8.5 10.7 16.9 (105)
Qtr times: 31:20 27:39 28:29 30:47

Scores: Sturt - Giles 7.2, Harmes 4.0, M O'Sullivan 3.0, Trengove 2.0, Hughes 1.1, Scott 1.0, Pope 1.0, Rushed 0.1.
Port - Solly 5.3, Milera 4.1, Gray 2.1, Stringer 1.0, Rawlings 1.0, Flynn 1.0, Rose 1.0, Lycett 1.0, Moody 0.1, Hood 0.1, Rushed 0.2.

Frees
Sturt 30 - 23 Port
Inside 50s
Sturt 47 - 46 Port

Port goal kicking might be out as I had MacAdam down for 2.0 as well making 19.9 for Port which isn't right, but I think I accidentally gave him two goals then changed it without scrubbing him out. And I think it was Rawlings who kicked the last goal of the match on the siren but I'm not 100 percent certain.

Great victory. I was worried there for a bit when Port got a run on in the last qtr...

It's very pleasing for the future of the SFC...

This has been the 4th highest scoring Under 17s season by points; and 2nd highest in scoring shots.

that would probably explain why the 17's have been good to watch this year.

O'Malley was excellent to day, Solley probably second best today and did his best to win the game off of his own boot.

Sturt very well served by Scott, Ellis and Giles. Hughes's third quarter went a long way to breaking the game open for sturt. Number 20 won the ruck dual which says a lot.

Port the winners were harder to find but Milera was probably the best of the rest. They must of had more play good games it is just that I did not notice them.

Centrals under 17's have contributed in their own way to the high scoring season...

Kulikowski was clearly Ports best player, Solly was threatening to win the game off his own boot..... Milera and Gray were also very good especially in the first half.

O'Malley was very good and Giles up forward was a real headache.....

got there during the 2nd qtr, it was a very entertaining game of footy to watch, crowd support for both teams was good but was more to the blues of course. the young players will go down in history as the last winners of the U/17's competition.

The interesting part is that unlike normal these guys would filter up to the 19's and the fringe players drop off.

Next year with it going to under 18's we will basically have the same teams running around again next year.

Thus going by this year the first year of under 18's will be very entertaining and of a high standard and a lot of this will be because these boys will have have a long time playing together so they will have a greater understanding of each others game than previously.
