Probably Grima, however, I wouldn't swap him for Ian Perrie. :D

Sam Rowe. Been brilliant. Just what we needed, a hard running, pack busting CHF. Covers a lot of ground and always forces a contest and brings the ball to the deck.

Rowie is an incredibly underrated player yet very important to us. I was only saying tonight to someone at training that a number of times this year I have left a game thinking he's been great, yet the next day his stats show 5 kicks, 3 handballs and 3 marks. His work at contests and around the ground is great and considering he is basically in his first year of league footy given he came from the Canberra league via the Swans' reserves team, he's been playing above expectations. I hope he plays 150 games for us as he will just get better and better from here. I couldn't believe he wasn't a weekly winner of the Star Search award but apparently his nominations always coincided with a big statistical effort of someone from another club.

I don't know that he would feature among the best recruits across the comp this year, but you're spot on mate, he's not a player to be judged by his stats, but more his value to his team ... Doesn't get the statistical reward for a lot of the good work he does.

Mark my words, this boy will be a gun player at 25, I just hope we're still lucky enough to have him then.

Actually, I think it is a healthy sign for the SANFL that no interstate recruits (who came this season) scored more than 6 votes. Shows that ex-AFL/VFL/WAFL players with big reputations won't necessarily star in our comp.

Like David Biagi

Appropriately not one Eagles recruit has been mentioned in this thread until this post. It's not the fault of those players of course.

I would go for either Todd Grima or Ryan Ferguson. Am still a bit disappointed at North Melbourne for signing Nathan and denying us Todd this year
If Nathan gets delisted, it will be interesting to see what happens. Will both Grima's play at Glenelg, or will they both play for Central...?

I can tell you now that if Nathan goes on the end of season trip to Koh Samui with 7 other Kangaroos, there is a strong chance that he will be back here next year!

Just hoping the 'crack' is not his leg again!
He definitely deserves another chance at the AwFuL - had a great season for us in 2007 and did nothing wrong playing wise at the Kangaroos this year.

You're a good judge, bdp :)

Don't faint, but I would think Grima is the recruit of the year, narrowly from ferguson and a few others.

Would you hazard a guess at how Centrals would fit both Grima's into their team within the salary cap?

Especially as I predict the highest paid recruits next year will go to northern clubs.

Easy, do what Glenelg did and find Todd employment. His salary from the club can be hidden as part of his employment income

Higher than Callinan's $80K?
