Unless your a Geelong barracker.
This game was zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
WB lowest score of the year ?
GE 2nd lowest score of the year ?
Between them they have gone a fair way to ruining the game of football as it once was
For 2 immensely talented sides to play a game of soccer in a Prelim final was abyssMAL

After seeing the SANFL finals last week give me SANFL ''REAL'' footy anytime.

Sorry for being a pooper but I was bored watching the style of footy that was presented tonight

Congrats to GEELONG for winning
Commiserations to the AFL footy that I used to know

From a Geelong perspective
They had to play a tight unrunning game
They had to stifle the WB run and possession game
It worked
Well coached by Bomber its how he and I would have coached the team
GE won the winnable P/F and did it almost perfectly

If I was a REB/WEDGE/MT79 GE supporter I would be thrilled to be in the big one next week

HOWEVER
From an impartial view of the game, that style[which is played by several teams] was zzzzzz
It never flowed it was keep possession, plug up the gaps, hang on to the ball, kick sideways, kick backwards. kick it 15 metres, etc etc
It was like watching Soccer

I reckon ignore Geelong's apparent form slip tonight. They simply needed to do what they had to do to make the GF. A very professional team that achieved all that really matters - a W.

I don't think the WB were a serious threat and the standard of the game reduced more to their level rather than lift to Geelong's

I am still salivating at the prospect of a Cats / Hawks GF! I hope their's no stupid upset tomorrow leading to another completely one-sided GF

Well done the Cats. It was dull tho I agree with Mal :D

Provided they get through tomorrow, I reckon the Hawks can take it up to the Cats ... I know Geelong can play better than that, and most likely will, but I just wonder if they felt the pressure of a cut-throat game without the safety net of guaranteed next week?

From a neutral supporters perspective, I never thought the Dogs were going to catch them, but the Cat's looked uncustomarily concerned by the cheek they were showing.

A great game for the football traditionalists, worth the price of admittance to see Geelongs defence alone.
Great crowd, I expected 10k less.
Tomorrow Im off to the markets, the Royal Melbourne show and considering going to the other Prelim also but might be too much of a downer after such an awesome game for us football purists tonight.
Glad North allowed me to get interstate this year especially after watching the borefest at Adelaide Oval last week on TV.
Nights like tonight remind me of how far the AFL is ahead of the SANFL.
Will send some futher reports from Vic on my phone, be well all, I AM!

well im off to watch it now, unfortunately stupid people work night shift

happy with the result - especially the $1.36 over 24.5pts

not fussed about how bad they may have played, will find out in a minute, but all i can say is next week no matter who it is it will be close to an 8 goal margin, probably more if its st kilda. in fact given that the saints and cats were compared a few years back in terms of lists etc and everyone said how good st kilda were its funny they never lived up to the expectations, and id love the cats to play the saints because i think the 119pts from last year would be in serious trouble.

The funny thing is this time last year Geelong look average against Collingwood. Only just got over the line so judging by that this was a reall chance for the dogs, maybe if they kicket straighter you never know, but anyway what this means is look out next week! Awesome Geelong will be back, I just hope the Hawks get through and they bring it as well.

I enjoyed the game as well. Full marks to Geelong for getting through. Both defences were outstanding. The Bulldogs probably should have won this game - they had plenty of opportunities, but the Geelong defence kept them at bay. Best game of the finals series so far IMO.
