Who is the SANFL Recruit of the Year in 2008?

Who is the SANFL Recruit of the Year in 2008?

I guess recruit means new to your SANFL club this season - whether from another SANFL club (eg Bailey, Gum, Weatherald, Cubillo etc) or from another club in another comp (eg Grima, Trotter).

I'm also thinking players only - coaches not counted (eg Andy Collins). AFL draftees also excluded (eg Moran, Walker, Kite etc).

Thoughts?

That's just cruel.

Nowood's most important recruit has been Matthew Davis. Thanks again Jimmy Moore.

Grima would have to be up there somewhere. All up probably not as many stand out recruits performing this year, compared to past years.

Scott McGlone has been good at Sturt. Hard to judge other ckubs when you only see them a few times. I can see Scott probably being top 3 in Sturts best & fairest,

David Trotter and Ryan Ferguson for me both have been outstanding for their respective clubs.

Pretty much an even spread for Norwood.
Hard to separate Trotter, Weatherald, Davis, Rowe, Phillips and lately, Doyle.

Good call. He has been superb for us this year. I'm hearing that we may be sourcing a big man from Scott's old club for 09...

So Parry has added Sturt to his annual CV mail out....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Presumably it would be King, given that Parry has just signed a contract for another 2 years.

Well, if you use the Magarey Medal as the criteria, the best recruits this year were Weatherald and Perrie (9 votes each).

Actually, I think it is a healthy sign for the SANFL that no interstate recruits (who came this season) scored more than 6 votes. Shows that ex-AFL/VFL/WAFL players with big reputations won't necessarily star in our comp.
