Fact, We are using the same process as have other clubs in the league to utilise a specialist firm at no cost to our club as is a league arrangement - please get facts correct before criticising unfairly the club Holden.

As I stated previously on this site and in a PM in 2007 to Holden I admire the passion for the club and have asked Holden to contact me to volunteer to be on committees, to help out, to assist officially - my offer remains as does my offer to meet with Holden face to face to discuss his concerns - Yet to be contacted.

I'm sure Micky will agree that I do listen and do speak regularly with our members and do represent them at board - but do not take on board destructive anonomous criticism.

Increasing membership from 1360 to over 2000 in my time on the board (4 consecutive years over 2000) would indicate we are offering value for membership including record memberships for the club in 2006 and 2007. Whilst we can always do better I reckon we offer prety good updates and communications with all our members , including regular email and SMS contact.

Members are always welcome to be in contact directly with me giving name and contact details and are always given the courtesy of a direct reply and respect for being in contact. Which is also the case for any contact with the CEO or President.

I do share the disappointment of 2008 season and will be doing all i can to support the club to get back to top 3 spot in 2009.

Something i posted elsewhere about 3 weeks ago but it never got a reply......

Holden, just wondering if you have ever contacted the club directly with your feelings/concerns on the matters you raise on this site regarding the team, players, the board etc.

I have seen comments in other threads that the club has dismissed comments from sites such as this, in my opinion this understandable as regardless of how passionate they are, they are in most cases anonymous (just as my comments are) and in some cases more destructive than constructive. Im sure the club would take more notice of your suggestions / criticisms / feelings if you were to pass them on directly and with your contact details than they would if you only post them here.

After CD's comment it looks the ball is in your court and that of anyone else who has a gripe / suggestion etc.
Trust the process.

I think my lad pin pointed to me earlier what the Eagles problems this year were.First one was being complacent(we are always in the finals) the second one was injuries to key players at the wrong time .

So lets hope Powell and Treeby stay .
Passador stays fit
The young guys who don't get drafted play league footy
We pick up some recruits along with skippy and jacobs and the mystery Vic person.
And league pre season starts early this year .

the VFL player we & Centrals are chasing is 177 cm , 78 kg , 24 yrs

this is what his ex AFL player coach said about him;

``He's hard, he uses the ball well, he makes good decisions and he has a real team focus, which is what you need from the VFL boys.''

Offering more money then you really want to very rarely backfires when recruiting mature players in the top level of our competition , Clayton , Allen , Gowans twins , Grima , Backwell , Bradshaw , McKenzie , Archard , Cooper , Trotter , Baird , Perrie , Alleway , Parry , Grocke , Passador , Fisher etc. ; I hope for once the Eagles splash some cash on quality , as recruits like Paul Lindsay wont come these days unless they get the top rate going ! Even Skippy may be out of our reach unless the package is enough ! Mortgages only last for a set time , premierships last a life time . Port road can wait !

Looks like all the guns have signed on again for next year which is positive news. McKenzie, Dabrowski, Powell, Treeby, Passador, Jarrad, P. Fiacchi, Fitzgerald, Geddes and Rimington have all signed according to the club website.

Are North chasing him with the enticement that Ben Hart may coach them next year?

team mates at the Crows and Ben's dad is Skippy's manager....

although the Eagles are confident he will return to them as I understand......

The midfielder i think you are talking about is being flown down by the Central District Football Club next weekend to enjoy the Grand Final atmosphere and be lured into playing for the Dogs in 2009. If it is the same guy the Dogs nearly had him this season but fell through in the last minute.

Yeh , that would be bloody right ; same old story just like Grima 2 years ago when he chose Dogs over Eagles ! My clubs Board need to finally get a top player over Centrals just to make a statement to recruits in the future , that we can match any club financially & on the field ambition-wise . Glenelg signed the younger Grima from under Dogs , so its possible . We need to be percieved as wanting to be the best , and getting out bid every year hurts the club into the future . Last years recruiting effort told the world we are flat assed broke !

Nah won't work, Couchey lives with Grima & Kirkby, so he'd defecting to the Bays and this "new recruit" from Geelong will then join
his ex VFL team-mates at the Bay
