i briefly listen to it in the arvo for 30mins or so and within a minute he said bullsh!t

I agree with this suggestion. And he could do all the news updates,'live crossovers" to the TV newsrooms,traffic reports and be ALL the guests as well

I listen to the sports show each night religiously, and absolutely love it. I don't always agree with the views expressed by KG and Cornesy, but I think the old bugger will be sorely missed.

I also think Fitzy is a sensational bloke and funny to listen to, but I don't particularly want him "ratbagging" up my serious and considered evening sports program. Someone like Wildy would be an excellent replacement. I don't mind Rowe and Rucci is quite good, though two know-alls on the one show would probably be too much for any listener. I didn't think I would, but I enjoyed listening to Phil Smyth on Saturday afternoon, so he would offer something to the show.

I am not a huge fan of Francou, Ditmar or Bones, so fingers crossed it ain't one of them.

5AA think they have a winning format so they will be loathe to change it. For mine, I lost interest in the show 3 years ago, switched off and never went back. It would take something special to get me back again. Roy & HG perhaps

What I just couldn't handle is it is supposed to be a 3 hour "sports show", and most of it is listening to Crows and Power fans ringing up complaining about umpires and Cornes' Victorian conspiracy theories. The show is an insult to the intelligence of any serious sports fan.

They interview a Crows or Power player, it goes for half an hour. They interview a star from another sport, it goes for 5 minutes, and even then they've managed to ask them which AFL team they support.

No kidding. I tune in most nights on the drive home but on goes the iPod as soon as the inevitable Crows interview comes on. There's only so many times you can listen to the sanitised call-and-response love fest every night. And John bloody Reid seems to have a direct batphone to the 5AA studio!

When they interview anyone outside the Crows / Power / Lleyton Hewitt comfort zone they either (a) relate it immediately to the Crows / Power / Lleyton Hewitt, (b) do it in a ill-informed, half-hearted & sometimes derogatory manner or (c) a combination of (b) and (c).

Did anyone hear them interview Chambo last night? Most of it was spent asking him whether he wanted to play for the Crows and inane questions about his Victorian heritage...in fact all questions they had asked him in a previous interview but had forgotten. I liked how Chambo ever so politely pointed that out to them!

The other option is to call the programme yourself and make discussion on the topics that you like - SANFL footy for example! If the switchboard is full of people wanting to talk about the SANFL then guess what the afternoons programme is going to be about!

That's the thing though ... I don't like it, so I choose not to listen, and haven't done so for 3 years. I would love a proper sporting program coming out of SA, but apparently that's just too much to ask for.

So I listen to SEN. Okay, a lot of the announcers are complete tossers, but at least you hear things about other sports and AFL teams other than the Crows and Power.

I also choose to read the Herald Sun, The Age, The Australian and the Tiser to get a bit of balance on all sports, but more so the AFL.
