Preliminary Final Predictions

Postby Mr66 » Sat Sep 13, 2008 11:08 pm

Cats by 55,
Hawks by 28.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

Interesting weekend of football coming up or at least it could be it could also be a couple of bealtings as well. Anyway Geelong game, I honestly think they will be all over the doggies but you never know, the cats were a bit sluggish last for the prelim (although stunning in the big one). So the bullies may have a chance, all be it a silly chance its still something. Hawks game, well are the Saints really the 4th best team? Maybe, what they need this weekend is to really get on top in the midfield, there big men really need to fire in the ruck and Kosi and saint Nick need to run amok! I know thats easier said then done, but I feel if the saints can cut the supply to the hawks forwards then they are in with a chance, if not then they will struggle to hold Franklin and co as I think there defence is a bit fragile at times.

Now the random factor, Collingwood are gone, I can't see past a Geelong v. Hawthorn GF.

Collingwood were never the random factor. Have a look at the lineup of last week and compare it with the team that defeated Geelong in Round 9 and there's why.

Geelong will be a shoe in - 8 goal win. St Kilda might cause the Hawks some problems, this will be the most interesting game - Hawks by 3 goals.

Lot of people liking the Saints on here. Not sure about that, the Hawks stepped up a gear for the finals and have the week off. Regardless of the Cat result I'll be cheering on the Saints. Gotta hate the Hawks.

Would the backing of the Saints have anything to with people hoping they will win rather than actually believing they will? For what it's worth i think Hawthorn will win but it will not be easy. Cats to win very easily.

Possibly rodney. It would be an upset if the Sainters got up IMO. They also get chronically overrated at every given opportunity as well. A lot of the football media appear are Saints fans/spruikers apparently (Eva, Thomas, Holmesby, Burke).

The Saints play a brand of footy almost as bad as Sydney and Adelaide, I hope they get thumped and we get to see a GF goal-feast next week.
