A lot of the accolades quite rightly go to WALKER for his efforts in 2008
But Ive spotted a kid who will also be a sensational AFL player in KITE

And I still dunno what happened to KITE today when carried off

I believe Kite got airborne...

I was in the Bradman Stand and didn't see what happened. No Norwood players remonstrated with any of the Port players. It must have happened as the ball was sailing way over all of their heads through for the goal. Maybe a freak accident? Hopefully he is alright for next week - looks a good young player running out the backlines.

Was a fantastic match of football, just a pity we couldnt get over the line.

The Legs midfield was the difference for me. Far too pacy for Ports. Whilst Ports midfield is very good and weve finally got some consistent big bodies in there, what we lack and what was blatantly obvious today was the lack of pace. Weatherald, Gallagher, Donohue, Speight etc. had too much leg for the Pies midfielders and that was the difference. They continuously harrassed our midfield and when they had the ball we struggled to get near them. Walker was great but geez...Lokan on him? Dunno why we didnt put Perry on him from the get go. Elstone...dunno what happened to him today but he played far and away the worst individual final i reckon ive ever seen.

Was a great game to watch. Ebbed a flowed, some massive contests and plenty of skill.

Whilst its a dissapointing result, I think the Pies are heading in the right direction and the second half of the year has shown we can string some wins together. As I said about our midfield...Clayton, Summo, Elstone, Depasquale etc. are all very good footballers but they are all very much similar in that they are bigger bodies without a lot of pace. Item #1 on the recruit list should be one or two pacy wingmen to get the ball to. Whilst the likes of Watson, Carr and Mcinerney could become those players, we need to get some quicker options into the side. A key forward that isnt 57 years old would also be on the agenda. Very much looking forward to next year.

He sure did. Hes a top footballer. But you cant sustain having two 34 year olds in your forward line with minimal succession plan. Whilst Ahchee can play there, hes still better off in defence. Some young decent forwards should be high on the to do list for next year and beyond.

Go the mighty Legs! Was a great game to watch and befitting of the SANFL's all-time biggest rivalry. I really liked how positive and attacking Norwood played and thought 'we' just had a bit too much pace in the midfield. Walker certainly looks a talent and won't mind seeing him getting a run with the Crows next year. I think Sturt might have a little bit too much class next week for us but if the Legs play a similar brand of footy next week they will give themselves a chance.

All up though was an outstanding game of footy to watch, the way the game used to be played. If you can't win the flag the next best thing is ending Port's season!

I've been saying all season that Norwood's best could cause a few problems for other teams in the finals. When Norwood get it right and play direct, they can look a good side. Even Gallagher refrained from chipping the ball wide today and went long and direct. Let's hope they've learned a few things today.

I notice people are back to the "why didn't Walker play for the Crows?" thing. Walker looks very good when creating space and having the ball delivered well, he can rip you to pieces. However, he still lacks a defensive component to his game, and when he needs to fight for the loose ball invariably comes up empty. This is something he will need to work on in the off-season if he wants to play AFL in 2009. No doubt he has the skills, just need to add some things to his game. At 18, he's a talent.

I was also very pleased with Doyle's game in ruck, I thought he provided our mosquito fleet with enough opportunities to create some real damage. I agree with another comment (I think it was Mal) who claims Kite isn't long out of AFL, he's a very good player. I can't wait to see Trotter in 2009 (hopefully injury free and a pre-season under his belt).

Tear in the eye at the end. It was never in doubt for me, altough the 3 injuries had me a little concerned, The Magpies thought they had won this match last week, like the Crows did the week before!
All played well, Pup best bog, Trotter, Gags 2nd half, Rowe, Doyle, Cocky and of course Tex the stand outs! Now for Strut, out in straight sets!

I noticed Kite giving Hargy some close attention shortly before going down. Saw a Port Player (Hargraves) and a Norwood (Kite) extremely close together then Kite is flat on his face and out for the count. You fill in the gaps. Aaron Kite has copped one fair on the chops all because the young lad had given his opponent a bath. In saying that his replacement Vlatko??? plugged the gap nicely.

AH agree too Walker's defensive game is not AFL standard yet but it is improving slightly
