One of the club, the state and the sports greatest and most inspirational players, though his greatest honour came in battle as opposed to on the football field.

RIP Bob. Wish I got to see you play!

Honours and Achievements

Born April 9th 1915

Represented Port Adelaide from 1933 – 1947 playing 186 SANFL games and kicking 386 goals

Three time premiership player - 1936, 1937, 1939

Four time Best and Fairest winner – 1937, 1938, 1945, 1947

Dual Magarey Medallist – 1938, 1945

Port Adelaide captain-coach 1939-1940 and 1945-1947

Represented South Australia in 15 games kicking 26 goals

South Australian captain-coach 1945, 1946, 1947

Member of the Port Adelaide Football Club Hall of Fame

Member of the South Australian Football Hall of Fame

Member of the Australian Football Hall of Fame

Port Adelaide Football Club joint Number One ticket holder since its AFL inception

Awarded a Military Medal in 1943 for “courage, leadership and devotion”

Gee I'll have my house on the fact his death will be used by Ginevar on Sunday...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Well said lads, sad whenever we lose a true champion of our competition, state and life for that matter, not too many bigger names in the sport in this state.

I know Paul Thomas from Centrals is very proud of his 2 x Bob Quinn Medals...

Sad to hear, all respects to his family and friends. Can anyone say when he passed away. Truly touched by his passing. Clubs mean nothing at times like this. May we all remember the SANFL and it's champions.

RIP Bob Quinn, a true legend.
I can't believe Rucci couldn't even get it right in his story about Bob in the paper today, stating his age as 83.I would have thought Rucci of all people could have got this one correct.Yet another error in the Crapvertiser.
