i voted to run out but it would be more like a stroll out....i haven't done this since fred phillis kicked a ton in 1975 & i think although not a bay player it might be a bit of fun for little bayman
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Mate I've seen your condition...there's no way you'll keep up with Soders!
Soders will have caught up with Chambo, conducted the interview, the crowd will have dispersed and Chambo will be lining up for goal number 4 before you get there. :drinkers:

I wouldn't bother running out, you run out, get within 20m of him, stand there and wonder why the hell you're out there and then walk back. Maybe I'm getting old.

I might need some trainers assistance to get back off the ground but hey, I'll get out there if I get the opportunity for an interview !!!

Anyway, getting the thread back to the topic at hand...

Interesting article and back page cover story titled "Jail House Blues" in the 'Tiser today saying that fans who invade Adelaide Oval on Sunday IF big Brant kicks the 100 will risk being ejected from the ground and even arrested !! I think that is a bit over the top, but understand the SANFL don't want to risk any hooligans doing stupid things while out on the ground and potentially put players at risk like they did with the Nick Stevens scenario when Buddy kicked his ton.

I read with interest that Weslo has sat down with the SANFL and decided that they will form a circular guard around Chambo and try and escort him from the ground if they are near the players race when the event possibly takes place. We all know Weslo have a reputation for not being the best security firm going around so let's hope nothing goes wrong and the men in yellow do their job properly.

Translation: 1000 adult Sturt supporters will be able to dawdle out to Chambo at their leisure, share a quick ciggy and saunter back to their seat cushion in the members stand. Meanwhile one or two under-12 Blues fans will be grabbed by the earlobe and forcibly manhandled from the arena by at least half a dozen security nazis.

Bwaaaaaahahahahahahaaaaaa! I'd have money on even the most corpulent Sturt fan being able to clear the fence and get out to Chambo well before any of those slack Weslo twats. Even with a 50 metre head start.

Will the SACA open the gates so the "mature" Sturt supporters in their gophers can partake in some Chambo back slapping....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I think entering the ground to be part of a 100 goal celebration is fine...

The SANFL/Weslo and SA Police should realise the importance of such a moment, and allow fans to do their thing.

Let the fans out on the ground, and if anyone does anything stupid, then and only then, take action by escorting them out.

I do have the same sentiment in regards to centuries in cricket. It's a number, nothing more. Again we make a big fuss over one extra run when a player gets to 100. I don't mind counting centuries in cricket as it provides a guide to excellence in batting but I don't think it should be as highly celebrated as it is.

And in regards to fairness, my idea of counting finals goals wasn't supposed to be fair. Not everyone gets the chance to win the Jack Oatey, do they? I just think finals contributions are a different ball game and as such should be given a different recognition.

You don't need motivation to interupt a football game, just an overvalued sense of self importance and no brains.
