"It is understood that the board told Jarman he lacked the necessary passion to succeed as the Roosters' coach."

Could one brother combination be replaced by another?

I was mounting a similar argument for most of the year re Fuller at the Eagles . Its interesting to see Norths Board acting quite the opposite to the Eagles , I guess the 06 flag is the main difference , but Fullers had 3 more years than Jars !
Grahaml wrote:Why should a club's supporters not want the best for the club? Blindly sticking by anyone is how many good organisations have fallen. North, like all clubs should be always assessing whether any individual is the best for the job. You don't want people being sacked all the time, but once someone is not the best available for the job the club in this case should act quickly to get that right person involved. The dogs had Clarkson, but decided he wasn't the best for the club. Clarkson won a flag and lost a GF in his 2 seasons at the helm, a record Jarman doesn't compare to. Clarkson was moved on and the club got bigger and better. And when the time comes that Grant, Laird or anyone at the CDFC is no longer the best for their job I'd hope that the decision is made quickly and with as little disruption as possible. If it's time to part ways, then the NAFC needs to make that decision in the best interests of the club. However, if Jarman is the right person for the job the NAFC should sign him ASAP and the supporters should get behind him. Blind faith led to the crusades and the third reich. Nobody is above being questioned, nobody is always right and nobody deserves a job for life.

I think Wedgie may be right regarding what the comment regarding Jarman's passion was in regard to. Remmeber this decision was made after a 5 hour discussion after Jarman gave his review of 2008. You can never question his passion whilst coaching but was he passionate enough about being senior coach next season? From the comments he has made publicly recently it is questionable and what he presented to the board is an unknown. Perhaps the board are the people who are best positioned to comment in this circumstance.

Sadly for Jars this year the converse is also true.
'People are not stupid. They know when they are being conned. And two reserves teams operating in a League competition will reduce it to a farce, a competition without a soul.'

North Adelaide Football Club would like to advise that Andrew Jarman will not be continuing his coaching role in Season 2009. The Club is appreciative of Andrew’s role during his five years at the helm in the demanding position of being an SANFL coach. The highlight of his tenure was certainly the Grand Final appearance in 2007. We recognise the contribution Andrew has made and wish he and his family well in their future pursuits.

Dogger can you name a few of those ordinary players he turned into "good" players.
I believe he had run his race.

He also turned some good and promising footballers into players who either left the club after being pushed or "lost it" and quit!

Dogger hasn't a clue as he is not close enough to know the full facts about lots of off field stuff especially this year!

It was the last time we won one and the last time we had a great coach. :(
Next one will be when we get our next great coach, there's been a big gap between them unfortunately. :(

I had a look at the old Roost and Macgowan and Trevor Hill were both on the same short list as Jars back at the end of 2003.
Ironic that those 2 are coaching sides in the finals at the moment.

I'm sure he'll be back coaching elsewhere in the SANFL in the future which is good for the competition.
