In the 2008 draft, Bottom side for 4 years , West Adelaide could lose anything up to 7 or 8 players, hopefully 4 or 5 but it could be at the higher end.
Players who could be drafted include (All have been closely looked at or spoken to)
1 Hartlett (Draft Camp)
2 Martin (Draft Camp)
3 Stanley (Draft Camp)
4 Slattery (Draft Camp)
5 Webb
6 S Blesing (State Screening)
7 Nichols
8 Silverlock (Still an U/17 but can the Gold Coast grab U/17s this year?????)
9 Nathan Brown
10 S Morris
11 D Sukkel
SO MY POINT

Yes West Adelaide will get financial gains for any lads drafted but how does that help West Adelaide re-build their list so they can be a competitive club, we currently are not FACT. This is not and wont be the last time we get raped and pillaged by AFL clubs. Footnote : North Adelaide who have been crying out for a Ruckman of quality, and now have potentially found one in Big Dodman could lose him after a few games, so this is just not about West Adelaide
So I ask the question (What is the SANFL going to do about it??????)
Potential answers
1 Allow a club for each player drafted $15,000 a year for two years additional salary cap dollars, this would allow the club to recruit a replacement of hopefully similar ability to where the player is now at ability wise
2 Allow a club for each two players drafted and additional priority pick in the states mini draft.
This is not a bitch from a supporter who loves wooden spoons but an ask of the SANFL of a little bit more fairness.
