Qualifying Round: Sturt v Centrals

Postby magpie in the 80's » Sun Sep 07, 2008 6:34 pm

Will Sturt bounce back from the last result or will Central deliver the same result again

If this is true, it begs the question, which other players may request the same thing or be held back by the power or crows?, and will this make a difference to the clubs involved particualrly sturt.

I think this weeks game could be similar to last nights game. It will be tight but i think the dogs will go in feeling extremely confident.

My prediction is dogs by 25pts.

I expected the Bulldogs to win at the Ponderosa on Saturday night, but equally I expect Sturt to turn the tables in the Qualifying Final. I don't have any particular reasons why, I just feel Sturt will do the job, maybe its the feeling that Sturt would learn more from the loss and adjust than Centrals will having won the match.

Weather certainly will play a part. I don't fancy the Blues in the wet, I think the Dogs could strangle them in such conditions and stop the Blues well known free-flowing football game. I'll go on the record though and pick the Blues by 21-30. The loser of this game should not look forward to the following week, both Norwood and Port Adelaide will be difficult opponents.

I watched the Rnd 19 North match, and Centrals looked pretty ordinary in the wet.

De Luca not playing for Sturt?? Is that true?

If so that could be a big loss for Sturt especially with Feast not getting a crucial rest this week. The games I've seen Sturt this year De Luca was giving the Sturt midfielders more than their fair share of first use of the Footy . Now the Sturt midfielders will have to rove more (not totally) to the oppositions big men.

Gee he could be missed. Mind you it gives someone else an opportunity to step up.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Deluca is a bit of a disapointment but the only thing that it affects is our ruck depth, when we played at the Bay this year we had no Deluda or Feast only Kurtze, so unless we get an injury to a ruckman I don't think it matters that much. Centrals will be a tough encounter. Go Blues

Toss of a coin for me...

I am leaning towards Sturt getting up in this one, but you can NEVER rule out the Doggies come finals time.

As a Bays fan, awaiting the winner of this one in the second week of finals...I have no preference for who I would like to meet. I think both sides are equally as dangerous as eachother, and with a break this week, I also think the winner of this game carries the advantage going into the clash with the Bays the week after...

I'd like to see Chambo knock up the ton.

Serious time now, as much as I hate to say it, watch out for the Doggies, have done what they have had to in the minor round, got the double chance and will now explode

Blues have been #1 mostly all season.

They would be pretty pissed off about the final outcome of the premiership table, one thinks....

Finishing 2nd..

Maybe their anger will beat them..?

Dogs by 34 points.....

You Dogs.......

At 3/4 time last week coach MCGOWAN gave some of his players a big big spray.
He questioned the lack of endeavour and or intensity shown by some ST players.
I have heard that Ricky was as animated as you would ever see him.

Surely this will charge up the Blues for the return clash with CD
This game could be won between the heart and head
