We spent three quarters today trying to gift the minor premiership back to Sturt. Luckily we decided to stop the charade of a woodenspooner at three quarter time and decided to play like a minor premier.

Gee we were ordinary today for three quarters, I think the xpectation played too much on the boys minds as we were over anxious to win that we forgot about the basics of what led to 15 wins prior to today.

Ah well its all good, some key players will get a crucial week off to get over their niggles, that is priceless at this time of the year.

Interesting commentary. I know it's all academic now...But, Given that you struggled for 3 quarters today do you think you would be better for the run again next week? I agree with MacGowan that Sturt need it (the South game meant nothing with the bye before that). Or do you think it was the weight of expectation added to the niggling injuries you mention that contributed to the sub-par performance for 3 quarters (compared to most of your previous games this year)?

Regardless, congrats Bays. You deserve your flag favouritism.

With the Bays winning the Minor Premiership there's no doubting that if they don't win the flag it will be a huge implosion/choke.
Just like the Bays fans I reckon they're home already though.

Maybe someone appointed you the spokesman for all the North fans on this site, but i missed the vote where we said you could speak for us.

No one has said that at all.

Enjoy your pre season training.

Hate to tell you champ, but you've listed your team as being West Adelaide, I think Geelong will have a few more weeks to run than West Adelaide! And you're telling me to enjoy my pre-season?

Not the club mate, a few supporters yes but not the club.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

"Gee we were ordinary today for three quarters"

Oh yes! Yes we were. Constantly standing/ "zoning" off and letting Norwood have soft/easy lead ups. Poor defensive pressure through the midfield. Lazy. Thought it was one of the worst 1/2's of footy we have played in 2 years. I could not believe the space Norwood half forwards and midfielders were getting.

The most appauling for me was 2 goals that could have been easily touched had we had someone with Size on the goal line(shots werent from 20 either... they were on the 50). One went through at waist height with only Johnny Hinge trying to touch it under pressure from 2 opponents. TERRIBLE.

Umpiring swung all over the place. Norwood got it early, Glenelg got some soft ones late.

I'm very concerned about the "on/off" switch that Glenelg have (and use too regularly). Only once since the massacre at Coopers have we played 4 HARD and INTENSE games of footy (V Port last week). As Mark said we have not put 2 in a row together in 6 weeks. Glenelgs best is very very good. Its bad.. is lazy. Thank God for the zip and passion of Matty Bode late 2nd qtr. Bodey decided he was going to pick up the rest of the side and spark them. Awesome effort Bodey. Awesome.

Well done Glenelg. The choice of Mickan was a good one and the club has backed it through. A GF appearance almost a certainty...unless they go out in straight sets...

irony i·ro·ny [ahy-ruh-nee, ahy-er-]

1. the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning: the irony of her reply, “How nice!” when I said I had to work all weekend.
2. a form of deliberate mockery in which one says the opposite of what is obviously true
"A no vote from any club means there is some sort of risk involved in our entry into the competition not working," Steven Trigg.

Funny game footy. Only two weeks ago some of your Eagles mates were suggesting that Mickan is the same coach that coached the Eagles all those years ago...now the Eagles have missed the finals, and Mickan is a good coach again.

Play nice Wedgie...get on board the 17s bandwagon and enjoy the ride. Tell your Reserves to have an Alexander too please.
