yea why would freo want a bloke who took over a nearly dead club to 1 of the better sides, makes no sense

Yep, the same guy who is a one trick pony and has more interest in himself and his media profile than anything else. Each to their own though. I acknowledge the great job he did with the NAFC but he has gone on 2 years too many IMHO. It was clear in 2006 that he had taken the club as far as he could and since then we have gone backwards. I said it in 2006 that he wasn't capable of taking the club to a flag and as it turns out his ego has got in the way just as i predicted.

If the rumour is true well good luck to Jars and Freo but will his personality really gel with Harvey  Will almost certainly provide some more comedy from the Fremantle footy club

lol, Im with most others on this thread, Jars had done a fine job of taking a broke club with no players in the basement to a rich club with lots of players in the basement.
He'll fit in well at Freo.
In 2003 we had no money to spend and managed to come 1 spot behind Glenelg.
In 2008 we had more money than any other club to spend and managed to come 6 spots behind Glenelg.

Thanks Jars, turn the lightst out on the way out mate.

I could be wrong Rod. But I seem to recall I went to a Grand Final last year. And I'm pretty certain North were playing in it.

Surely you aren't blaming Jars for ALL our recruiting?
We were always in trouble this year once Howard, Hart and Bamford retired. You simply can't replace players of that calibre overnight.

Not as interesting as the time's at Freo, poor Mark Harvey, the poor bastard has no idea what he's let himself in for if the rumours are true.

I disagree, Centrals had no problem doing it every year, for the last decade, while still maintaining successful on field performances...

I think North have got a good mix of youngsters coming through and of course will need to recruit fairly well in the off season in terms of a ruckman and probably akey defender, but I think they'll be back up around mark, even with a possible fresh new coach...

Yep, that would be the same GF i went to where Central District embarrassed their opposition and showed how second rate they really were. Our chance to win was 2006 but as it turned out we blew it for a number of reasons. Fact is we have gone backwards since then whether you choose to let the fluke GF appearance delude you or not.

Yeah, I think that is fair to say LL, at least in the last 8 seasons when we have played in successive GF's. Just click on the link below and have a look at the 50 Premiership players for The Dogs and their is certainly a case on pretty much every premiership year that we have had some players retire or go to the AFL and we manage to recruit players to fill the void and continue the successful reign of finals success...

http://www.cdfc.com.au/players.htm

A few examples of players that have stepped into similar shoes of those before them and have been able to perfrom at similar levels...

Radlee Moller & Paul Scoullar - Both quality ruckman and Premiership players
Heath Hopwood & Andrew Hayes - Both courageous half back flankers and premiership players
Marco Bello & Ian Callinan - Both quality on ballers with an awesome goal sense and premiership players
Michael Stevens & Elijah Ware - Skilled hard running wingman with an ability to kick goals and premiership players
Kynan Ford & Luke Cowan - Strong marking tall forward capable of kicking bags of goals and both premiership players
Damien Arnold & Jason Mackenzie - Honest and hard working ruckman who always give a contest and are premiership players
Quinton Graham & Daniel Havelberg - Versatile key position players who can win a game of their own boot and both premiership players
Damien Hicks & Nathan Grima - Tall key defenders who could hold down a dangerous forward and of course, both were premiership players

The common trend with the player comparisons above is that these players, whether they be local juniors coming up through the grades or of course interstate recruits, are proof that the club were able to cover the losses of certain players whilst still maintaining success and depth within the club. I'm sure there's a few more...
