I think it was a good result for both clubs, good win for the dogs and not losing by much to Central under light at Elizabeth is no disgrace, puts both sides in good stead for the finals.
If Glenelg can hit back today and if the Eagles beat Port there is genuinely 4 sides that can win on their day in the finals and it should be a ripper series.

It is difficult to see the other side of the ground at Elizabeth at the best of times let alone the sight of the Simpson ******* Desert obscuring your view! I wonder if there will be any law suites regarding silicosis in the future?

Maybe we dont put enough manure on the oval like they do at unley.

Great game by the dogs, showed just how awesome they can be when it matters.
As for sturt wasting shots in the last quarter , didnt the dogs do this the last time these 2 sides played at unley and lost by 13 points after being down by a huge margin at 3qtr time.

I love the smell of finals in the air (AND SO DO THE DOGS).

As for the state of the toilets.....well last time I looked the crowd had a lot of Sturt supporters in it,oh sorry my mistake ...their pi$$ didnt contribute to the filthy mess,it must of been just us central supporters that caused it.
So the Sturt supporters must of been going elsewhere then , either that or their aim was better, oh sorry my mistake again... I forgot they are superior beings:shock:

On the plus side at least the club provided face painting and a jumping castle that was popular for the kids,and the game itself was a good contest showcasing two powerhouse SANFL clubs,it was a great night really enjoyed it.

Totally outplayed in a most disappointing 2nd Quarter

Scores even after half-time

Wasted opportunities on goal in the dying minutes.

We could and should have won even at that Oval

Thought the dogs were the better side for most of the night. Sturt will remember the missed chances in the last, but they did kick some rippers early in the game to be 6-0 early. Dogs also missed a few very gettable early ones and had one disallowed (O'Hara ran too far?). We were just too hard and tough in the contests for Sturt IMHO.

Still many players working back to full fitness and touch, Gowans, Schell and Aufderheide (welcome back to the league team) in particular but an important win. We now (assuming Port win as they appear to be doing) go into the finals as the ONLY finalist to have beaten all other finalists in their last clash.

Interesting criticism of the facilities. If you missed out on hot food you should have gotten in earlier! Bit hard for the CDFC to know exactly haw much to cater for given that was the last home game for the year and so many things will have gone to waste if not sold. Toilets are amongst the best (not like Norwood and West for example) in the comp. If it's the mess you have a problem with then you can't really blame the club for some Unley resident's poor aim. Time clock was annoying but simple enough to realise the last quarter started at 35 minutes. And without knowing the problem I think given it has only happened once that I've ever noticed you'd be better off not worrying about it. The again, it is a nice way of not talking about how your team was out-toughed on the field. Wait till we get a key position player have some sort of impact!

Looking forward to the finals, CDFC's playground of the 00's.

With the amount of overseas travel he's done and having seen the big smile on his face last night at EPW I can assure you Mic is the opposite of "one grumpy old fella"!

Probably due to the pressure - they will get some more of it next week

Unfortunately didnt get to the game on Satdy night.. Interested how the Dog's forward structure looked like given that Cowan & Lawry didnt play. IE Did Schell play up forward? (Assuming not going on the stats.)

Schell played in defence for the night. McCabe shifted forward in the third term.

Interesting point someone mentioned about the lights, a few players looked to lose it in there at times.

Thanks CK - So I assume Westhoff started at the goalfront and maybe Buckets & Giles alternated up front as well rather than off the bench?

As for the lights, I've never heard any complaints from players previously, although from a spectators point of view it can sometimes be hard to pick up the finer details of play from one end to another.
