It was a blinder,
1st 1/4, went goal for goal
2nd 1/4, North looked to be blowing Glenelg out of the game, until the Bays got the last 2 or 3 goals of the 1/4
3rd 1/4, was all Glenelg, I thought North were gone
4th 1/4, scores were level, or lead changed on numerous occasions, it was only in time on that North got a break.
Skill level was generally very good, but at times both sides coughed the ball up often in 2 or 3 minute patches where turn overs were happening nearly every disposal.
Ist 1/4 saw one of the best goals I've ever seen, Drebin, Locky801 and myself were all lucky enough to be in direct line with the kick, Bay player under enormous pressure kicks ball from boundry line in SW pocket, didn't look like missing from the time it left the boot. I don't think there was a supporter from either side that saw the view we did and didn't applaud it.
Tackling was fierce from both sides, and no one shirked an issue, head over the ball and hard at it all game.
The only downer for the game was the Glenelg player injured on the wall, as the ball was going over the boundry line he recieved one of the best executed hip and shoulders I've ever seen, hard, fair and comletely within the rules, if it wasn't for that rediculous brick wall so close th the boundry line he'd have gotten back up and still be ok today.
One Glenelg supporter near me called for a report and went on and on about it, but the other Bay supporters nearby said it was a fair bump, and just an unfortunate footy incident that should never have happened as the wall issue should have been addressed years ago. It is time the NFC and SANFL did something about it, next time it could be far worse that an arm.
The game was worthy of a GF, pitty it wasn't in a couple of weeks, awesome stuff by 2 very good sides.
