A massive pokie barn debt is one thing Norwood don't have.

Local lads who are struggling for an oppurtunity but are a real chance to make it and could appreciate the oppurtunities South has to off.

Sturt - Anderson, Weir, Read
Glenelg - Grosser
Centrals - Duncan
Eagles - Fitzgerald

All of these are still kids and could have a future. At worst they bring much needed depth to the club and you would suspect they would come cheap. With a bit of luck a couple of them will jump out of the ground and when mixed with the current crop of kids it could be the foundations for success 4 years down the track.

Ahh ahh ah !!!!

Keep your hands of my man Ashley Duncan !!

He has been great for Centrals reserves this year and if not for breaking his hand, I know he was very close to making his league debut earlier in the year. I think Ashley Duncan is a future star at league level for the Dogs and having got to know Ash personally this year, the club would be crazy to let another club poach him.

Watch this space re Ash Duncan @ Centrals in season 2009 !!!

I was waiting for that Phil.

Mind you, what you have just said would also mean that a club like Souths would be stupid to not investigate the possibility.

How much longer do South supporters have to wait?

A similar question was asked in general conversation during the call of Port v Glenelg on the weekend...

What is the longest running premiership drought in SANFL football ?

Is it South Adelaide's 45 year run, with their last flag way back in 1964 ???

Perhaps, cue Spelly ???

Yes.

Ashley would be stupid to leave centrals and try out at souths - the panthers couldn't manage a list of players and he would be lost to the country having a great time and earning some money at least at the dogs he probably knows where he stands with the club ( a great club) not one that is on the road to nowhere. so somebody tell him to STAY AT THE DOGS!!! no matter what

or stupid.

I plan to post a similar patronising thread about Sturt as soon as they are out of the comp this season - see how SP likes it

Actually this thread title reminds of that old ad from the 70's and early 80's.
The old:
"Come on Kylie, you can do it!
And just to make sure...
I'm going down every street,
Knock on every door!"
Bloody effective ad' but I believe it was linked to the Channel 10 Christmas appeal or something. I don't think South are quite in that category yet.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
