As good as they are, I don't believe that ... Remember Walker was very good for Norwood earlier this year when were a crap team (Im not for a minute suggesting we're anything special, but we have improved since back then).

IMHO, he would've made the Bays league team at least a couple of times if not more.

Every one out there saying that Walker is a better player than him. you cant say that, if walker was at the bays he wouldnt have played a league game yet. and james was just playing as a back up ruckman.

NFI

For a start James IS out of contract, where do you think Glenelg played the lad the past 3 years? Forward! FFS get an idea before you post....you really do post some crap...

AS Ive said before I dont think the Crows will give up on him however IMO will get dropped to the Rookie List and with Burton a long term injury next season could be elevated at any stage if form warranted it...

I reckon they'll sign him for 1 more year and if he doesn't show improvement seriously consider delisting him then.

On a 3 year deal anyway, I reakon, so will be there until the end of 2009 at least.

And i back Maxy's knowledge of AFC contract status over anyone else on this site.

Will be at the Crows in 2009, will be at Glenelg in 2009, will play good footy in 2009 and increase his AFL game tally.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

They are guaranteed 2 years when drafted. Tippett was offered 3 when drafted and accepted, same may be the case for Sellar.

Unreal, No. 1 draft picks (Gibbs) dont get 2 years but Sellar and Tippett do? Johnny Reid I presume

Unsure on how the system works but why would Gibbs, Murphy etc want to sign an extended deal at the minimum wage that draftees are guaranteed when they could bide their time and push their value up after a couple seasons. Gibbs signed early this year so whilst he obviously had intentions of staying at Carlton, his value was likely to be more 2 years in compared to draft day.

If he is, and Ive seen no evidence that he is, doesnt mean he will be on the list next year, only 2 years ago they delisted a contracted draftee after 1 year...

A list of 40 + the long-term injury and veteran lists should allow the club keep both Sellar and Hentschell for one more year

Why persist with them? Because they play the position that the team is lacking in the most. If 1 of the 2 work out next year as a key forward, then I'll be happy.

If they were mid-fielders well maybe you'd make a tougher call on them.
In between signatures .....

You'd think McGregor would get de-listed before Sellar and then with three talls gone they'd be keeping teh rest.

I think he's locked in too. After his 1st half display for the Eagles last week he should have been struggling for a kick with the Henley Sharks D grade. He is gone after this contract

The Crows, cause if they delist him they still have to pay him and account for him in the Salary cap

"We go with what we've got," Craig said.

"The key is to improve them. That's one of the reasons we played (Kurt) Tippett this year, we haven't played (Taylor) Walker yet but I think he's got some real talent and can play AFL football.

Trent Hentschel is a bit of an unknown (after missing two years with injury) but I'm confident he will play AFL football again.

"I think Jason Porplyzia will be an exceptional AFL player and that (Jonathon) Griffin, Ivan Maric and Richard Douglas can develop as well, so there's a fair bit to work with."

Craig virtually guaranteed that 2006 first-round pick James Sellar - a disappointment so far - would remain at the club by tipping him to also make an impact next season.

But the future of veteran Ken McGregor doesn't seem so assured, with Craig saying he would have discussions about where the 27-year-old fits in at the Crows, despite having one year left on his contract.
