Daylight savings

Postby Pseudo » Thu Aug 28, 2008 10:15 pm

Daylight savings has been moved forward a few weeks this year, to Sunday October 5. Details here:
http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/stor ... 01,00.html

Why do I mention it on This August Forum?

'coz it's only the holiest day of the SANFL calendar, that's all.

Not sure if it's such a good idea, losing an hour's sleep prior to the grand final... those of us in attendance (not getting ahead of myself  ) will be snoozing over the pre-game barbecues. And how would it be if the players rocked up an hour late, having slept in? Curtains fading is one thing, but screwing with the body clocks of a SANFL footballer is another thing entirely.

LMAO..some of the comments in that article, one would think the bloody world was coming to an end...

If sure the GF'ers will be committed enough to go to bed an hour earlier

Given its an official 3.10pm start and its really 2.10pm which is not far off the standard start time.

Probably saves the SANFL some lighting costs for the final quarter and post game.

Makes it an early start for the U19 Grand Final?

Yes it does, especially with the Eagles in with a good chance to be in it. But I'm not getting ahead of myself, we've got a couple games to go before we can get there.
