R&B given you club's forwards and midfield performances this year i.e. the amount of ball that gets into the westies backline the fact that he gets 30 touches each week is not surprising. If Ferguson was any good he'd be getting 40 touches a week...

Also given the flooding tactics that Westies play - the amount of Westies players in the backlines allows ferguson to zone off his man and get relatively easy possessions. Not that I blame your club for looking for him as a go to person in the defence as he is well skilled and one of your better players. My point is your game style allows him to pick up possessions for more readily than a McLeay, Schell, Rudolph and Bown. So spare me the stats details Fergusson gets compared to other backmen in this league.

Yes he's a good player and is definately one of the better backmen in the competition but having seen clubs this year I stand by the fact that Schell and Mcleay are the two best CHB in the comp.

Forrest is rarely beaten, but has had players like Chambers, Warren, Passador, Waterhouse, Hargay kick bags on him...even with Mules, Rudolph and Panoz down back to help out...

I **** love the bloke...he has been an absolute stalwart for our club...

Back to the discussion about CHB's...based on what I've seen this season, I reakon no one is the standout CHB.

The only time Forrest ever does any good is when he plays on Perrie.....

TM, there are so many factual inaccuracies in that diatribe that it would take too long to bother to answer it.

Stick to the fact that you've only seen him a couple of times and wouldn't have a clue about him.

Even Centrals supporters don't put Schell in the top two and McLeay is OK, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Good night all.

A centrals supporter made the comment about Schell, so don't embelish either....

Once again you and I are going to have to agree to disagree.

So you are saying you don't put players behind the ball and that you don't take advantage of Fergusons better than average skills for a key defender - along with Cupido and Bailey - they are the blokes you look to give the ball to coming out of defence??? or is that just against Glenelg?

As I said he is a good player and definately one of the better backmen in the comp.

Lucky this is a place for differing opinions and all this thread is about is opinions on who we think are the better CHB and nothing you have said has made me change my mind on who the better CHBs are in this comp.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

West have played one 'flooding' game this year, which just happened to be against Glenelg, where Ferguson didn't play CHB, so you've only seen him play CHB once.

That hardly qualifies you to be an expert on how he plays, which is obvious because your analysis is so silly. Those who see him regularly know that, far from getting easy kicks, he would be one of the most courageous players in the SANFL.

I don't expect to change your mind, as it's already made up.
