Happy to finish 3rd even though you were absolutely belted in your two finals matches?

Talk about accepting mediocrity.

I guess Port fans were delighted to make the GF even though they lost by a record margin.

When you are the even money favourite to win the Wooden Spoon and finish 3rd being beaten by the 2 teams that made the GF, yes I was satisfied with the season....

Who did the Crows lose to? :-k

Oh yeah the team we belted....

Yep Crows lost by less than a kick after scraping into the 8 but I was disappointed with that. I am not crapping on about what a wonderful season it was, like yourself who watched his "top 4" get flogged by 100+ vs Geelong and then Port Power by 14 goals. How is that a successful season?

No wonder your club is stuffed.

Stuffed? How so?

Im loving the ride at the minute, got one of the top 5 players in the league in career best form, one of the best coaches in the league, some of the most exciting youngsters in the comp yet never bottom out like many clubs to be successful!

How quickly people forget, in 2007 people were writing us off more than they were Melbourne this year, imagine if melbourne finished 3rd this year?

What did you want us to do, win the flag? 13 teams worse than satisfies me thanks 8)

You could have done better in the finals, if you had put up a fight then I would rate your season but you got absolutely humped in both of your losses. These weren't losses which blew out a bit, they were absolute smashings.

Why?

Well, after years of battling for money and the iminent departure to the Gold Coast you finally got people to dig into their pockets and become members, this despite the fact through the late 90's you were the powerhouse club which led the league.

This cycle of poor finances will continue when you drop back out the 8 in a year or two (as all clubs do) and then the money will dry up and the cycle comes again.

The Bulldogs will go through the same, just not right now while they are flying and the AFL continues to pour money into battling clubs.

(I know you will attack Port during this, but our membership rarely drops below 30,000)

It would be a different story though if Port had to fight for its market share with say two or three other AFL clubs in Adelaide. Tough market is Melbourne mate.

Yep,then the AFL spent 4 years threatening the club with a forced move to the Gold Coast, then told them if you dont go we will not give you any more handouts.

Strong position,really strong.

How long have you got?

Depends. If you fall out the 8 in a year or two watch membership (=$) drop off...

You will never cease to exist, every club in the AFL means another game to sell to broadcast rights each week.

If you want to go far, go together.
