good luck to all the young ones if they make the AFL debuts. It is interesting to see how hard Salter works i know it has been a problem of his which is why he was playing in the ressies last week.

You don't rate Salter or is that just a general statement?

He is a gun and deserves this opportunity. I'm sure he'll do well.

Merged this thread with the Nic Salter thread. No point having two threads about the same topic...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I just relaised that the Nic(k) Salter thread was already posted and the info about his elevation posted there. Can one of the mods just link my new topic over to the original thread.

Cheers,

They need to see whether he's capable of staying on the list or not, and the best way of doing that is by giving him game time in the AFL. Its quite simple, really.

So how are they supposed to work out whether or not to keep them on the list for next year if they dont play them. I mean, they're no Meesen or Bryce Campbell, but gees give them a go to prove themselves.

Williams wont play but has had a very good development year. Has turned into a consistently good SANFL player. He'll get a deserved shot next year.

Stewart has been in and out of the side all year. Has played well in the AFL except for 1 game and has been consistently high in WWTs best all year. Chaplin is injured so who do you suggest we bring in? Id have Stewart in defence ahead of Pettigrew as well.

Farmer deserves a crack. Hes had a great year and probably should have got a game earlier. Salopek is out for the rest of the year, who do you suggest we bring in?

Salter has had a good year as well. Tredrea is out for the rest of the year so we need another forward. I would have liked Cockshell to get a game, but statistically, Salter has been better and far more consistent this year.

If we were dropping players for the sake of it then id agree, but when you cop 3 injuries - two of which are long term...what do you do?

I find it funny that Crows supporters accuse Port of tanking, yet after the Crows lost 5 in a row they wanted to bring in Otten, Walker, Dangerfield, Kite and Petrenko. Whats the difference?

Official ins are Salter for Tredrea, Stewart for Chaplin and Farmer for Salopek.

Still struggle to see how that is 'taking tanking to a whole new level'.

So has anything been said as to who the travelling emergency will be. With Ryan Williams not making he final 22 I would assume it his him but of course we Doggies fans would much rather him play for us than fly to Melbourne to be a spectator. I hate that when a young kid who is playing well is on good form in the SANFL, pressing for AFL selection, only to have to miss out on playing footy all together that weekend just to be an emergency. Oh well, not much can be done about it.

Good luck to Willow if he does get a late call up and good luck to Salter and Farmer in their debut games in the AFL. Well done boys...
